"Mate? What exactly do you mean?" I asked, dazed. "Who are you?" I couldn't take my eyes off his. The man took a few steps and stood close to me. His arm went around my waist and pulled me into his chest. "I'm Alpha Abel of the Woodland Pack. And you are my mate and Luna," he answered, still staring at me. "My wolf Hex and I are furious with you. How dare you plan a future with anyone but us? And pups? You know it's impossible."

Alpha turned his head momentarily to look at me and I couldn't help but flush him a smile. He planted a gentle kiss on my mother's forehead and soft sobs escaped her lips. Alpha pulled his mate into his arms and patted her back so that she could stop crying but her sobs only got higher with each pat. My mother couldn't stop sobbing because of the mixed emotions that she was going through.
