“She’ll be alright.” I climbed into Eva’s car, and she drove carefully behind Kael’s. The city lights blurred past, my pulse still uneven from everything that had happened. By the time we reached the hospital, my mother’s eyelids fluttered open. Her gaze flicked between me and Kael, confusion and awe crossing her face. “Diana…” she whispered. “I saw him appear.
