Bound to the Billionaire
I wasn't an expert hacker, but I knew the pattern of his security—the dates, the names, the references to his family’s blood debt.
I bypassed the initial encryption, the code cascading down the screen in a waterfall of green text. The last file I had seen was the contingency protocol, but there was another one, tucked away in a sub-directory titled “Project Anchor: Initiation.”
I opened it.
The first file was a ledger—not a record of business expenses, but a record of lives. It was a list of names, dates, and amounts. I scrolled through them, my heart sinking as I recognized the names of companies that had filed for bankruptcy over the last decade, all of them connected to the syndicate.
