I handed her the cake and motioned her to put it in the oven. “Which part, the war or the mole?” I asked. “Both”

“You may leave, both of you. We will handle it from here. Thanks.” Angel’s eyes widened. The maids bowed and exited the kitchen. He moved to the counter where a stainless bowl was already set up and broke some eggs into it. Angel walked over and pinched him on the arm. “You cannot do that,” she said, her gaze shooting to the door like she hoped the maids would walk back inside. “It’s wrong.” “What is?” “Kicking them out.” Calvin held the bowl to his chest, using the hand mixer to whisk the eggs. He wasn’t sure what they wanted to prepare, but he hoped they could figure something that worked with eggs and bread. Angel stared at him with a pout.

Angeline said as she walked into her room with a plate of cake. The Luna smiled broadly at her. Kiara looked at the cake on the plate she brought, this was the third time Angeline had offered it to her, and she never ate it. "Look, I brought you chocolate cake! Her eyes moved to the contents on the tray, a bowl of freshly cut fruits, toast, omelet, pancakes with Nutella, two cake slices, one was chocolate, and the other one was cheesecake, along with orange juice. She had the cake first and it was yummy, a bowl of fruits followed, and one by one she ate all the things. She didn't know she was so damn hungry.

Dominic POV There are six cakes on the table. Six. Three tiers each. Decorative piping. Edible gold leaf. One of them has hand-painted sugar roses that probably required a degree in architecture. My mother looks pleased. The pastry chef looks terrified. There’s 18 candles in front of the figure on the top layer, with a very simple “Happy Birthday Raven” on the top of the lower tier that borders the top. “Thank you everyone.
