I search through the books, using the shelves to slide the ladder around. I don't recognize any of them but one captures my attention. I grab it, sliding down the ladder. I head over to where Angel is lounging in a hammock and climb up beside her. The hammock is extremely soft. I lay down in it, propping the book up on my knees. "What book is that?" Angel asks me, peering over at the cover. "The History of Moon Wolves," I tell her and she looks at me funny. "Why would you need that? What don't you know about your own kind?" she scoffs.

I pulled a book from the shelf, its cover adorned with intricate gold filigree, and settled into a near president to read. As I read, I learned about the great elysian rebellion led by Lucifer, the brightest and most important of the angels. It detailed the events that led to the fall, the creation of Hell, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. My heart contended as I came across passages that mentioned Lorcan, though not by name, but by description a important departed angel, second only to Lucifer, known for his strength and fidelity.

You’re going to want to carefully read Chapter Six, ‘Fixing Things Up.’ It will explain everything to you.” Stella handed the book over, knocking over the paperweight in the process. She righted it as Helen opened the volume.
