May We Never Meet Again
Her face was soaked, her tears blending seamlessly with the rain, her expression trembling but resolute.
“I loved you once,” she said softly, her voice fragile yet clear. “But that love died with your neglect.”
The words struck like a final blow.
Nathan’s breath caught in his chest. His body swayed slightly where he knelt, his strength seeming to drain out of him all at once.
His lips parted, but no words came.
