"Rachel, is that you? You're here to see me! You're finally here to see me!" Sean stood up excitedly but almost fell. I caught him just in time. He held onto my hands. "Rachel, please don't leave me. I finally know how you feel. I know I'll regain my eyesight. I don't ask you to care for me, but can you promise to give me another chance once I regain my eyesight? "A chance to start brand new. I made a mistake. I know that now. I do." I said nothing. A moment later, when Sean thought it was a tacit agreement, I said, "Sean, we've broken up a long time ago. There's no need to start anything again."

Not two seconds later, a knock came at my door, I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and turned it on, the brightness of the phone practically blinded me but I could still make out the 2:00 am and the Saturday written under it. I yawned, "Come in." the door creaked open and Blake walked in, I was too sleepy to be the least bit surprised, I noticed that he had on active wear. He turned away, "You wanna come with?" he asked, almost sounding shy. I smiled, the sleepiness I had was swept away by joy, but the words of our screaming match--well mine, "Well, I kinda took back my invitation, so..." I teased. He chuckled, seeming more relaxed now, "I'll be waiting outside." he left.

One wrong move, and the only person who had ever truly loved her would be gone. "The ceremony is starting. Smile, Kendra," Elaine sneered, before turning on her heel and sweeping out of the room. Left alone, Avery let out a long, shaky breath, staring at her shrouded reflection. Just get through the ceremony, she told herself, trying to steady her racing pulse. He’s blind. He won’t be able to see the difference between my face and Kendra's. We just must survive in the same house. I can do this. Ten minutes later, the heavy oak doors of the grand cathedral swung open.

The room became eerily silent as everyone waited patiently. Suddenly, the flames from the candles became aggressive, growing three times in size and dancing frantically. Squeezing Rey’s hand, Suki leaned into him as she scanned the room, concerned.

She had said little for hours, only watching, calculating, her silence heavier than words.
