She could see rich, old, and dangerous-looking men arriving and leaving, but none of them came closer, so she was grateful.
Anxiety was seeping through her bones. She was scared that Jacob would start shooting anyone any time soon.
“Relax, you've been trembling,” Jackson told her and she swallowed.
“How long do we have to stay here?” Her voice trembled as she asked.
Jackson shrugged and raised his head to look at his brother, who was talking to some of his men. “Once Jacob is done.”
Anna followed his gaze. Jacob had his back on them as he talked to a group of people, some of them had rugged faces, but most of them looked bloody dangerous and Anna couldn’t help but gasp in panic.
