Apartment hunting is just so tiring and I wanna pack my things already and transfer those. My eyes widened when I saw the inside of the apartment. It has two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a spacious living room, and a bar counter. It still looks empty because it's just semi-furnished. It doesn't have any appliances except for the stove that's already in here. There's also two bar stools near the bar counter. It doesn't have a sofa yet but I can already picture the furniture we need to buy. It was pricey. [SFX: CORNER DINER. ABOVE IT. 6:17 AM. THEN TRUCKS ON HIGHWAY. THEN ALEX CRYING.] The apartment was 600 square feet. One bedroom. One bathroom. Kitchen that fit me, Adrian, and Alex if we all exhaled. Peeling linoleum. Water stain on the ceiling shaped like Texas. Adrian Knight. Billionaire. Ex-CEO. Now unemployed. Making formula in a kitchen where the fridge hummed like it was dying.

The other two live on the fourth and fifth floors. The elevator door dinged softly and opened. Ezra stepped outside and he was greeted by a deserted hallway. Most of the residents in this apartment are busy executives because this apartment is quite elite and has a good reputation. Sometimes they stay with their very old parents or other relatives to look after the house while they work.

I gushed. He grinned proudly. "Yeah? You like it?" he asked and I nodded. "I adore it. It's a dream house." I replied and he swept me up in his arms. "We can move in whenever you feel ready. I can change anything you want. Just let me know. There's no rush, okay?" he assured me and I melted even more.

Room 3B Benita Hayes The thick smell of burnt white sugar and cheap laundry detergent hit me the very second I pushed open the heavy, water-warped wooden door of the apartment building. There was no uniform security guard sitting behind a polished marble desk down here, there was no indoor waterfall to mask the street noise, and there was definitely no central air conditioning hum to cool the air. There was only a narrow, claustrophobic stairwell covered in peeling dark green paint and a single, low-wattage yellow lightbulb hanging miserably from the ceiling by a frayed black wire.

Now, I had my opportunity. After contacting the office of the apartment complex, I went in for a showing of the apartments available. Thankfully it had an elevator so I chose a beautiful three-bedroom apartment on the fourth floor. It was facing the street and had a lovely balcony overlooking the stone and glass buildings around it. The style was completely me and since I’d have the money, I informed the agent who was escorting me that I’d be buying the apartment, not renting it.

“ It is ideal for you two lovebirds.” “We are not-“ “I can’t wait to see it.” Justin cut me off again. “We are not a couple. This apartment is for you not us.” I whispered to him. “Really?” He grinned slyly. I poked him in the ribs. The apartment was located in a nice, cozy, safe looking neighborhood. And Hannah was right it was perfect. It was new, large ,with two bedrooms, a large living room, kitchen and dining room. I checked out the plumbing, and wiring. They were in good condition.
