I begin cooking, following the instructions in the recipe book strictly, my hands moving carefully, occasionally glancing at George, who sits beside the stove, looking exhausted. I can almost tell he is silently praying that this doesn't turn out like the bread we tried to bake earlier. Truthfully, I am doing the same inside.
