“There’s something wrong with the Vale’s energy. The Gate’s calling to her again.” We turned toward the horizon — and saw it. A column of light had erupted from the valley floor, piercing the sky. The color wasn’t gold or red this time — it was both, swirling together like living flame. The air trembled with its pulse. Vale’s grip on me tightened. “He’s forcing it open.” “Magnus?” He nodded grimly. “And if he succeeds, the Gate won’t just awaken — it’ll consume everything tied to it.” Cassian smirked faintly. “So, apocalypse before breakfast. Got it.”

Her canines bared, and her clawed nail pressed against my throat. "You're dead," She said with a triumphant smile, and I couldn't help but return it as we broke out into a fit of laughter. "You're nuts. You know that?" I teased, pushing her off of me. "It's always the crazy ones who make it in this world. Remember that Apollo." As she began to heal herself. I watched as her magic sputtered out from beneath her fingertips. How her skin seemed to pale, and the light in her eyes flickered before she collapsed to the ground.

“What do you mean, Samael?” He rose to lean against the bar. “I mean,” he said slowly, “that nothing in Heaven's powers and those vested in the gods can stop this.
