"I’ve saved you the trouble of throwing me out. I’m leaving. For good." "You’re going nowhere!" Edward roared. Suddenly, his phone buzzed in his pocket—a sharp, insistent haptic rhythm. He went to silence it, but as his eyes fell on the screen, the color drained from his skin, replaced by a deathly, bruised purple. He stared at the screen for a long, agonizing beat before letting out a guttural, jagged laugh. He turned the phone around, thrusting it inches from my face. "So this is it," he sneered, his voice shaking with a volatile mix of wounded ego and hatred. "This is why you’ve suddenly found your spine. This is why you’re so 'brave' tonight."

I snapped my head at them. “Do you also want to see me urinate? If you do, be my guest.” They all cringed and shook their head. Relieved, I walked into the bathroom, and thankfully, Celeste followed right in. Once we were finally alone, I breathed out a sigh of relief. Celeste wasted no time in questioning me. “So? What have you decided? Are you going to kill him?” I pursed my lips together and my gaze travelled to the floor. Killing someone was a big deal and I had never done it before.

What about Blackbird?” Killian looked at her then really looked.
