Gideon and I moved to the center of the courtyard as Mom positioned herself a few steps back.
“I want you both to concentrate on the same element to start,” she instructed. “We’ll begin with water, using the exercise we ended with last time—maintaining a sphere of water in the air.”
I planted my feet and reached inward, finding that familiar place where the water in the ground answered my call. The connection snapped into place easily now, like an aqua-blue thread winding through my chest, humming with quiet power. I tugged gently, and the water surged upward, shimmering as it gathered into a perfect sphere in front of me.
