Ash hoped it sucked big time. The first few invites, Ash had declined. She'd sworn off men. Her track record was shit. Angel kept bugging her and she finally gave in. Ash agreed to meet Angel at the clubhouse for the Saturday night party. She wasn't letting Dragon run her off from her sister or family. Ash put on a tight black mini skirt and an off the shoulder deep purple top. She paired it with black strapped heels and some silver bracelets. She went lightly on her makeup going with neutral colors.

She dragged her phone from her pants and slid to Facetime with her friend Brielle who is also Asher's secretary. "Hey, Bestie." Brielle screamed loudly, her face was covered with some organic herbs meant for skin care. "You are so loud, what the heck is on your face?" Angelica half yelled. "Okay, so there are these crazy products I saw online and they will give you perfect glowing and soft skin, babe, I quickly got it so I will look irresistible to my Asher." She blushed. Angelica sighed. "You got to stop applying any damn products on your skin before it affects you, instead of looking like Barbie doll you will end up looking like Sherik, besides my brother is so not interested in glow-ups."

Ash’s POV The roar of the clubhouse hit me before I even turned off my engine. Laughter, shouts and the sound of bottles clinking rent the air and for a moment, I wonder how they could easily fall back into their normal lives less than twelve hours after an attack. It was chaos the way I remembered it, but somehow louder and more… non challant. Inside, the air was thick with smoke and sweat. A few brothers cheered when they saw me, others nodded, their eyes sharp, reading me like they weren’t sure what version of Ash had come back.

And suddenly…I knew exactly how I wanted to spend it. Me: I'm off today. Three dots appeared almost immediately. Angel: Come see me. I smiled. Me: Now? Is the Den even open this early? Angel: It opens when I say it does. A laugh escaped me. Arrogant bastard. Me: I'll be there soon. Angel: I'll be waiting, kitten. My stomach fluttered. The Angel's Den felt completely different during the day. Mostly because it was empty. No music. No masked strangers. No bartenders. Just the quiet elegance of black marble, burgundy furniture and gold. My heels echoed through the enormous room.

Standing next to Ash’s bald, six-foot, broad-built frame, the Demon looked almost childlike, coming only to his shoulder. “Mr. Stone, this is Angelica Steel, she said she’s here to discuss a job,” Ash said in a stiff voice, having felt the alarm as well as picking up on the slight smell of campfire mixed with cobbler. “We spoke on the phone, I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” she said nervously. I smiled and inhaled her scent, the scent of blueberry cobbler, of Valkyrie, was almost strong enough to cover the smell of smoke. “Not at all, why don’t we go downstairs into the club, where it’s quieter?” And soundproof.

The shorts they are wearing are barely covering their butt. One of them steps forward, put her hands on Ashar's chest. My lips part. I place my glass back on the counter. Ashar looks surprised too, but doesn't protest. I can bet she is doing this for him to see her cleavage peeking out of her low neckline of her sleeveless top. Fury quickens the flow of my blood. It's getting hard for me to stay here and watch this silently.

I couldn't help but smile sheepishly. I jumped in jubilation as I watched Asher walk toward me. He was truly a warrior, a man whom I'd grown to love. As Asher walked closer to me, I heard a loud bang. A gunshot from far into the woods. Another batch of warriors was coming to fight us. Leading them was Christopher's mother, Anabel. Asher stumbled to the ground. He wasn't dead, but weak... Pain consumed me, the pain of losing him, the fear of being alone again. I tried to scream, but something else rushed through me... powerful and hungry, fueled by my anger and pain.

My eyes scanned everyone until I found who I was looking for. ‘Fuck…’ my brother said when he also saw her. Angel was wearing a black and gold sundress that cinched around her chest, laid flat against her toned stomach, and flared out at her hips. It ended a couple of inches above her knees. The gladiator heels that had ribbons that wound up her calves made her legs look like they went on for fucking days. As if sensing our gaze, she turned her head and smiled brightly at us before making her way over.

I lied, well it's technically the truth. "Ain't you gonna get your lunch?" Angel asked. "I'll get it for her since she seems tired. What do you want?" Hottie asked and I told him. He got up and left to get our meals. Looking at them, I could see the slight resemblance. They both had jet black hair and adorable dimples but while Hottie had hazel eyes, Angel had silver eyes and a lip ring. "I'm sure you're now convinced I'm not an Angel?" He smirked.

His wings were like billion of stars when it shines, too stunning that you couldn’t turn your eyes away, it was heavenliness that could warm one’s heart in just one glance. Kram came near them with frowning eyes and lips, all the angels immediately stood up for they knew that there was something bad that happened the moment they looked at the Archangel’s expression. They slowly formed a line before him and bowed down their heads as they knelt one knee above the ground, as a respect for their superior. “What’s the matter, Kram?” Xhagreb asked, one of the male angels, an old man around 2000 years old, who was guiding the little angels, his face was wrinkled but it was smooth and white as snow.
