An obnoxious white wolf came out of nowhere. I took a step back as she sauntered toward me, a grimace plastered all over her face as if she was going to pop up the hell outta me. "Accept who you are, Aksha." I nodded in panic. "Welcome, Aksha Beatrix Aslenovie." I catch a glimpse of my hands, turning into white hairy legs. Or was I imagining things? A howling voice echoed in the forest as I opened my eyes.

I am done with me saving all the time. After a few miles sprinting in our wolf form, I stopped. I crouched behind a tree. through the woods I watched warriors fight. Witches overwhelming with their magic. Rogues fighting alongside witches was rare sight and as much I hate to say that I now know what Asher meant earlier. They were fighting together in synchronicity. “Now.” I commanded and join the fight. After what it takes another half an hour, we were done with killing all of them. We also faced a heavy casualty. Out of ten warriors I bought, I was left with just two. Same with Asher.

He can't take it anymore until he was able to break the chains, with all his force, and quickly rush to the rogue who is ready to touch his daughter's breast. Austin's sharpened claws show up to his fingers. Then in a swift move, he attacks the Rogue's back and digs his claw straight to the rogue's chest. The rogue was unable to react when he felt a pang of pain on his chest, and by looking at it, his heart was in a hold of a bloody hand. He had a hole on his left chest where Austin landed his sharp claws out of his front. A low growl ripped through the silence. The warriors stiffened, weapons drawn. From the mist between the trees, a wolf lunged, but not like any wolf I had ever seen. Its fur was streaked with ash and shadow, its eyes burning with the same blue light as the runes. Symbols were carved into its skin, glowing as if alive. “Back!” Kael barked, shoving me behind him as he shifted halfway, claws ripping from his hands. The wolf hit hard, slamming into two warriors and sending them sprawling. It fought like a creature possessed, faster and stronger than anything natural.

“Shift when ready, Kael. Show us your heart.” Kael nodded, his body rippling as he shifted, bones cracking softly, fur sprouting in a fluid transformation. Ash emerged—a towering gray wolf, his scarred muzzle held high, eyes wary but steady. He padded toward Ember, sniffing the air, his presence commanding yet cautious. The pack murmured, some shifting to wolves to observe, their tails wagging with interest. Ember circled Ash, her claws sparking as she tested his stance. “You move with purpose,” Alya’s voice growled through Ember, rich with intrigue. “Let’s see your fight.”

I didn't swipe them away. They needed to witness that even warriors cry. That even Lunas bleed. That strength isn't hiding your pain — it's showing up anyway. — Later, when I was able to stand again, Asher was there. He said nothing at first. Before we could react, four spears landed near our tires, trapping us in place. Without waiting, Asher jumped out of the car. His body shifted fast, bones cracking, muscles stretching. In seconds, he was a wolf again. He growled, baring his sharp teeth.

Something like burnt fur and iron. The cursed wolves stood just beyond the Ashfang boundary, hulking and twisted. Their fur was mottled with black streaks, and their eyes… gods, their eyes. Glowing amber, rimmed in red. Eyes that no longer belonged to anything sane. Silas was already there, in wolf form—his coat darker than shadow, his silver eyes narrowed and ready. Three of our warriors flanked him in formation, but none moved. Not yet. The cursed wolves didn’t advance.
