Loneliness or Freedom? So, that's the end of my ramblings. Thud. I threw down the goblin I had just killed. The assassin was both a student and not a student at the same time. I didn't learn anything from his memories, except that they were sent by the association to kill as many students as they could. They were basically tasked with making a catastrophe at the academy. But that's not my problem. But I appreciate his blade. I approached the goblin corpses with the assassin's sword in my hands and began cutting out their ears one by one.

Leanunya countered, not budging an inch. I said as I gently picked up the knife that had fallen beside me. Before becoming a professional assassin, you must attend several training sessions in order to master all of the techniques that an assassin must know and study, and one of those techniques is that when one area of your body is vulnerable, you must think of another strategy to strike your opponent. "Oh please, don't joke about it because you'll regret it, I swear," I said to my assailant, "because you'll be the one to wind up on Satan's doorstep, honey," I said coldly.

Her eyes widened in shock as I leaned down to whisper in her ear. “I am sorry sister.” I murmured before extending my claws to tear out her throat before turning abruptly on my heel to face my mate. “Do you have a death wish or something? You were warned that assassins were coming, and you throw yourself at the first one you see?” “I didn’t know. She didn’t scent like a threat.” Lucas pled, throwing his hands up in defeat. “Because we’re trained not to.” I groaned. “Can you shift? We need to get you out of here, no telling when the next one will come through. They could already be here.”

“Ah, dear niece, so this is what an average day in the life looks like… waltzing with your kill and staring right into their eyes right before you snuff the light out of it… brilliant!” It was obvious he wanted a reaction out of her, and on a very good day, he would have gotten nothing, but today wasn’t exactly going as planned for the plus-sized assassin. Barbara moved with a speed that would have stunned the girl she used to be. In one fluid motion, she was behind him. She didn't bother shedding the server's jacket; she simply reached beneath it. The cold steel of a ceramic knife was pressed firmly against the pulse point of his neck before he could say another word.

The assassin trainees are practicing shooting, most of them are very good in hitting the target's head but little Mayari is having a hard time. She couldn't shoot properly and always miss, the very loud noises of guns being fired is making her head ache painfully and her shaking body couldn't cooperate with her as the memory of her mother being shot dead repeatedly flashed to her mind, scaring her every second she heard a gunshot. She slowly placed her trembling finger in the trigger attempting to hit the target again, regardless of how terrified she is because the punishment she will recieve later will be more painful and dreadful.

The grim reaper stood on top of the tallest building in their target area easily blending with the night in her black attire, she knew that she needed to stay alert because someone was always bound to make a mistake when on a mission. Raised in the Elite Assassin Academy, she knew how to execute well and had little to no room for sympathy when she had to take someone’s life. The Elite Assassin Academy was known for it is undying record of cleaning the streets of bad guys, so why would the grim reaper feel any pain while performing her duty.

“For the sake of national interests, she wanted to marry Alpha Logan, but how could she bear the pain of her lover’s death?” The weight of her story pressed on me. “Anne, I promise I’ll make this right. I’ll use your identity to get close to Logan. I’ll stay close to him if I must. And then, I’ll kill him. For you.” But I wasn’t ready yet. I needed to be stronger, smarter. Umbra Academy. Anne had spoken of it—a place that prepared you for this cruel world. “If I’m going to do this, I need to be the best,” I resolved. “I’ll enroll there and become the assassin I need to be.”

It was the start of a new day. Winter was creeping closer, and the back lawn of Serenity Villa was already covered in frost by morning. Aspen had almost mastered the art of bone compression, and Andrew was ready to teach her real assassination techniques. He said, "A true assassin only gets one shot.
