The assassin trainees are practicing shooting, most of them are very good in hitting the target's head but little Mayari is having a hard time. She couldn't shoot properly and always miss, the very loud noises of guns being fired is making her head ache painfully and her shaking body couldn't cooperate with her as the memory of her mother being shot dead repeatedly flashed to her mind, scaring her every second she heard a gunshot. Raised in the Elite Assassin Academy, she knew how to execute well and had little to no room for sympathy when she had to take someone’s life. The Elite Assassin Academy was known for it is undying record of cleaning the streets of bad guys, so why would the grim reaper feel any pain while performing her duty.

“For the sake of national interests, she wanted to marry Alpha Logan, but how could she bear the pain of her lover’s death?” The weight of her story pressed on me. “Anne, I promise I’ll make this right. The pressure piled on in crushing layers, bearing down on Ashton's shoulders like a mountain. Centered on the building, a sealed barrier formed rapidly, blocking Ashton's escape. "Who dares run amok in the Assassin's Guild?" From the darkness, a hoarse voice rose like a ghost. "The Legion's deputy head, codename—Grim Reaper," Ashton answered. He spread his spiritual consciousness, locking onto every assassin hidden in the building. The Assassin's Guild was notorious. Anyone who was one of theirs had blood on their hands, so there was no chance of Ashton picking the wrong target.

Just as I felt myself make contact, and form that connection, the Assassin sliced through them with cold-hot steel. She leaped forward with incredible swiftness, with the Hound tailing her. Her muscular form still moved incredibly fast, making me scramble into action. Chaos was engrossed with the twin's, using them like a child would battle with two action figures. Kade lunged at Alec, slashing his elongated nails across the soft flesh of his face. I snarled in sync with Alec, who was already shifting before my eyes. I needed to do something, and fast. Another minute and I’d be lucky if I had one mate standing.
