Evie had a confused expression on her face as she entered the house, earlier that morning some men came over and asked her Nahil wanted to see her. She wanted to decline at first but with the way they were glaring at her, she had no choice but to go with them. When she stepped into the house, she saw Naomi laying down on the sofa with her head on Nahil's lap. Evie almost puked blood seeing the sight in front of her, she never knew she would see something like this in her lifetime.

“That woman had led us on trying to pretend that she’s just a good shooter from all the practice she has done. “That’s where he went, ma’am.” For a moment, the world around Jade slowed. First Charlie… now Landon? Her breath hitched. Her hands trembled. “This… this is all because of her,” she murmured, a dangerous glint in her eyes. “Evelyn.” Her grip tightened around the glass she was holding an expensive crystal she’d barely sipped from. A crystal goblet is placed on the table. "We shall now join the two families by joining their blood." Elder Jasper Stark said. Then he pulled out a knife and took Nathan hand he cut it. Nathan let his blood flow into the goblet. Cassie lift her hand to the Elder. He cuts her hand and she let's her blood flow into the goblet with Nathan's. Nathan takes and licks Cassie's had and seals the cut then seals his own. Elder Jasper Stark mixes the blood together then passes it first to Cassie who takes a small drink then Nathan takes a small drink and passes it back to the Elder.

“I found your name.” Her face went still. “My name?” “In Daniel's records.” “Why?” “I don't know.” Her breathing became uneven. “Aiden, you're scaring me.” “I'm sorry.” “Then tell me.” He looked into her eyes. “There is a possibility that Paul Hartley was your biological father.” Silence. Absolute silence. Evie's face emptied of emotion. For several seconds, she didn't react at all. Then she laughed. A tiny, confused sound. “No.”

“I’m Evie.” “Zoe,” I say, shaking her hand. “And this is my brother, Bastion,” I add, pointing to him over my shoulder. She gives him a small wave and blushes as she takes him in. “What course are you on?” I ask her, trying to distract her from Bastion. “Economics and business,” she says. “You?” “Same,” I say, and grin at her again. Evie and I chat as we make our way to comms for lunch, and she joins me at the table with Corrine, Briar, and Talia. She’s sweet, a little shy at first, but once she relaxes she fits in well with the others.

I turned to look at Gianna, forcing her with my eyes to look back at me because how did Evie know that? Her eyes refused to look at me, her head bowed down as she held her hands together in a tight small ball. You could see the bead of sweat on her forehead. It could be literally anyone that told her that I didn’t want it to be Gianna, infact it couldn’t be her. Evie could have heard whatever she heard from the other maids so there’s no need to try and get answers from Gianna. “And what’s it to you if I kill him?”
