Children in colourful costumes, supervised by adults had started coming out of the houses. The three girls watched as a group of teenagers, all of them clad in Halloween costumes emerged from a link-road. They were laughing and chatting about going to a party. One of the girls who was in a witch costume smiled at the three of them. “Nice mask,” she said to Jill. “It looks like a second skin.”

When Felix pulled up to the Peters’ home, he saw that it had been decorated for Halloween. A trio of small hollowed out pumpkins, each with a unique design, sat on the steps leading to the door. The door itself was adorned with a wreath made of autumn leaves, pinecones and faux spiders. A life-sized skeleton beside the door appeared to be waving to passersby.

It’s October and Halloween is around the corner. It’s always been my favorite because it’s surrounded by everything I enjoy. Shane I used to love trick or treating. I’m lucky my parents even let me trick or treat, but I don’t think they could deny me something so basic, especially because other catholic parents let their kids do it. Shane and I also love horror, which is why Gail has made our wedding party a very fancy Halloween themed. I can’t believe they are having the party on Halloween. It’s going to be so much fun.
