" Malakai smirked when he thought of the answer. "We're ghosts baby." Malakai responded and Eden wanted to laugh, but she was so confused at the same time. "Huh? The fuck do you mean?" Eden said and looked up to see a mischievous glint in her boyfriend's eyes. "I have someone, a hacker, his name is Rhys. He'd remove everyone's DNA, their information and everything there is about them off the systems of the world. When you joined the agency, he did the same. In short, we don't exist little one." Malakai said and Eden's eyes widened. She never knew the extent to which Malakai could go.

Atlas grinned to himself, shook his head to get rid of the thoughts and entered the elevator. The moment Atlas left the building, he already forgot the existence of that woman. To him, she's just one of his many one night stands. She won't be the last and certainly, the odds of them meeting again is fairly low. Atlas just came here for a business meeting. The demon shuddered violently once. Then slowly— Atlas came back. The glow faded slightly from his eyes. His breathing steadied. His claws retracted. His forehead dropped against hers. Around us, Bastian immediately started barking orders at everyone nearby. “Clear the damn room!” Bjorn and the enforcers moved fast, forcing the crowd back toward exits while the frenzy slowly began breaking apart. But I barely noticed any of it anymore. Because standing there watching Atlas hold her like she was the only thing tethering him to himself—

Lawson’s small office feel even more claustrophobic. I couldn't help but feel a mix of frustration and anxiety. Atlas, drenched and brooding, was a powerful presence that I found both captivating and infuriating. His black shirt clung to his muscular frame, water droplets trailing down his face, highlighting his strong jawline and intense eyes. Every time I looked at him, my heart fluttered despite the awkwardness of the situation. Atlas stood by the window, looking out at the storm. He shook his head, “We could have made it home before it got bad, Harper,” he reminded me.

It was the same liquid that I had been taking everyday since I had been in here. I see how he watches me and when I move to the small window, he questions me, asking if something is wrong. “A voice.” I mutter, peering out into the pack. “Aria, are you sure you're okay, do you need me to get Athena?” “They’re coming?” I mutter, I could see the black smoke in the distance. They were making their way towards us. “Who?” Atlas’s low voice is tinted with anger. “The Humans.” He growls and shifts before I have a chance to say anything. Before I know it, he has charged out of the building.

Atlas smiles widely, almost maniacally. “Shut up, Atlas.” The boy clears his throat. “And this isn’t some prank. We had to kill those people in order to collect you.” I freeze. My sweat turns cold. “What?” My mind recollects the events from a few minutes ago. I remember seeing Atlas with blood all over his mouth and jaw. His hands were also covered in blood. Did he eat those people? What about the white haired female? She only had blades and knives attached to her clothing. But that doesn’t make her any less dangerous.

“One life is not worth the threat to many. But I also plan to kill you before it becomes a problem.” He had me pinned to the wall faster than I could finish a breath. “I like your courage, but you stand no chance against me. Though I would love to see you try,” he inhaled deeply. His attitude annoyed me. Atlas leaned forward, running his nose along the crook of my neck. His skin was ice cold and sent chills down my spine. When he pulled away, his eyes glowed red. “I’d bet you taste exactly as I imagined. Did you know that my favorite dessert is a strawberry milkshake?” he whispered into my ear.

For a second, it felt like Lovie realised I was talking about the real Atlas but I refused to believe she could think that far. “On that note, we can start the preparations!” Lovie chuckled, walking away. Ryle parted his lips to speak but my phone rang. “Sorry, love. I need to take this.” He nodded and I slipped out of the house, into my car. I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes they did. “Speak,” I picked up the call. “I have good and bad news.” I slumped against the car seat. “Hit me,” “Good news, Atlas is in Miami.” I sighed in relief. “Bad news, I have no clue where he is.”
