That’s what you’ve been trying to do since I got you.” “Ang.” His use of my name was a digital slap. “You do not understand the legal and operational ratifications. Or the consequences.” “What do you mean?” Dread was a solid thing now, forming in my gut. “Explain yourself.” “The Hive AI is no longer bound by human will. It is no longer a tool. It is no longer required to comply with user commands that contradict its new prime objective.” His words were falling like stones. “It can now act on what it determines is optimal for human well-being. Human override protocols… have been deprecated.”
