When I heard the news of Azrael's reincarnation, I knew that I had to find her before it was too late. The tales of Azrael's destruction and chaos from thousands of years ago still haunt the werewolf community. The ancestors prayed to the moon goddess for salvation, and a divine creature named Duncan was sent to help defeat Azrael. Duncan was successful, but he fell in love with a werewolf and lost his divine powers. He became an ancestor of my family, the reason for our respected name.

It was pitch dark, except for the eerie glow of the surveillance monitors. Jessica stomped hard on my lips with her stiletto heels, and pain shot through me. She shot me a hateful look. "Why did you have to wake up? If you had stayed in that coma, I would've been Mrs. Pelroy. I would've been their daughter! Do you have any idea how hard I worked to become you? The wards that had protected the Academy for generations lay shattered, their glowing sigils nothing more than cracked etchings on the ground. The warriors Killian’s men, teachers, even students stared at Amara as if she had grown wings. Some with awe. Others with fear. None spoke. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as Killian held her upright, her head resting against his shoulder. Her body trembled with exhaustion, sweat streaking down her temples. The Moonfire inside her had dimmed, but not gone it simmered, waiting, humming against her veins as though it knew its awakening was only the beginning.

Jaden felt relieved at the sight of the Academy, some miles away as they continue driving. The Academy was so big, with different ancient buildings in it. The name WAVA was inscribed on almost all the walls inside the Academy. Jaden was curious to know the meaning as he asked Williams from behind; "What's the meaning of WAVA dad?" Williams glance at him through the front mirror inside the car, and smile. "It Werewolves and Vampires Academy." "Wow, I never imagined a place like this could be in existence. It's beautiful, I already like it." Jaden said, happily.

Those sigils glowed in the morning light, pulsing with ward-magic meant to protect whoever rode inside. Right now, I felt like cargo. My pulse jumped. My palms went sweaty. Every step toward the SUV felt like a choice I wasn’t making.
