Elowen’s POV – Twilight Whispers That evening, as the last vestiges of daylight faded into the soft embrace of twilight, the academy’s grounds transformed into a quiet sanctuary. I found myself wandering along a secluded stone path leading to a hidden courtyard, a place that had once been filled with echoes of our past conflicts and now promised a fragile new beginning. The gentle hum of evening stirred in the air—a murmur of crickets, the soft rustle of leaves—and all around, the academy seemed to exhale, releasing the weight of the day.

Membership turnout surpassed all expectations, with aspiring werewolves eager to join the prestigious institution. Eva carefully selected a team of experienced tutors, renowned in their fields and dedicated to honing the students' abilities. I lick my lip to try and feel out what's so wrong, only to find teeth sharp and long, and a sensation of fur around the edges. I wolfed. I’m a wolf, and I shake it off, shake my head to bring my sight back to clear and fuzz-free, so I can turn and see the others around me. A weird movement that’s ungraceful and dog-like, that knocks me off balance. Nearby, a smaller wolf sits and looks at its paws, as I was, yet it glows too. Blue and surreal, as though the moon has rolled down to illuminate us with her touch, and it’s eerily pretty. Something I have never seen before at an Awakening. They don’t seem to be in pain anymore, either, and I wonder if the worst has passed. None of them is crying

The entire chamber seemed to react to the movement. “She was always connected to the system,” Nira continued carefully. “The Awakening only accelerated what already existed.” “No,” I said coldly. “You accelerated it.” Another pulse ripped through the Academy. This time the darkness beneath the chamber surged high enough for everyone to see it clearly. Not just shadows anymore. A shape. Massive. Ancient. Something with too many shifting edges and eyes that glowed faintly beneath layers of darkness. Several instructors screamed. One of the containment guards dropped his weapon entirely. Fear detonated through the room. The entity beneath the Academy was real. And it was waking up.

The man standing in front with his back facing the crowd was the one to turn around, causing everyone else in their group to quiet and form a straight line behind him. “Let me be the first to welcome you all to the new improved academy. I am Dean Alec. Since the opening of the Academy, we have reconstructed the program. We are here to educate, train and prepare for the future of our supernatural community. You are the future of your packs and have been chosen to be the first in the new and improved Academy. You will be the first to be educated about the changes to the supernatural laws and will have new core programs that will require a passing grade of B or higher.

"Activate, Unit EVA." Mom's voice was hesitant. She wasn't sure what she was saying, just repeating the headmaster's words.
