****A DAY EARLIER**** Arwenna woke up to the sound of water. Cold seeped into her skin. She felt, uncomfortable and naked. Her eyes fluttered open slowly A sharp headache struck her like a tornado, she tried lifting her hand, but they wouldn't budge. Panic flared as she turned her head and saw her hands chained to the wall Her eyes widened Memory came crashing back she was laid unprotected in the shallow water, bare and exposed with petals and herbs floating around her skin in sickening contrast

“Doctor Brock, something is wrong with Alpha Wyatt. I need you in his office immediately.” As I turn my attention back to Wyatt, both the Supreme Elder and Doctor Brock chime, “Okay.” I quickly nudge Wyatt’s shoulder a little harder. “Alpha Wyatt wake up. Alpha, you need to wake up.” My breath hitches as his body suddenly goes limp. Shit. He is now unconscious. I quickly grab his shoulders and shake him harder than my previous nudges. “Alpha Wyatt! Don’t scare me like this! Wake up!”

Not anyone. I swept the papers into a stack, shoved them into the false panel I had carved into the wall, and pulled the board shut just as his voice slipped under the door. “Ava? Are you awake?” I smoothed my hair down, inhaled once, and slipped into my usual mask before opening the door. Alvin stood there, leaning against the frame, his expression unusually calm. But calm with Alvin was never truly calm—it was always a performance. His sharp eyes scanned my face, my posture, like he was trying to read what secrets I might be hiding.

He kisses me on the temple with passion, squeezes me tight and I relax, rest assured that he means it because I know it’s true. AUTHORS NOTE - This is the End of Awakening but not the end of the Series. I do have more books related to this planned but this will be the last from Alora's story. “Awakening.” --- As the sigil glows brighter, Alexander realizes Project Rebirth has only just begun and Elena’s awakening might not be something he can stop.

His eyes, wide with innocence, blinked rapidly as he struggled to process the overwhelming moment. At first, there was confusion. He looked around, as if seeking confirmation that they were indeed calling his name. His tiny hands clutched the sides of his miniature piano with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. The applause and cheers from the audience were like thunder in his ears, both thrilling and bewildering.

“He will wake up, right?” “He can, and he will. He just needed the right trigger to wake his subconscious up. The shock of the virus has caught up to his body now that he is in a dormant state. That’s why we can’t wake him up. He’s the only one who knows what’s going on inside him, but before he could process it and wake up, he needed a trigger. We just haven’t discovered what the trigger is…”

unable to remember what happened in the dream I wake suddenly, my heart racing and a lingering feeling of dread. It takes me a moment before everything comes into focus. My eyes take in the ray of light coming from the small window showing that I’m still on the plane. The noise from the staff and other passengers come trickling back in. I can’t believe I fell asleep but it was my last night at home with mama before I got on the plane this morning to head to North Dakota for College.
