Ava raised an eyebrow. “Try me.” The woman tilted her head. Then answered. “You can call me Nyra.” The name settled into the air like something ancient. And something told Ava— This wasn’t just a new ally. This was something much older stepping into their story. And nothing would stay the same after this.

Then, with a proud smile, she turned to the pack. “Look upon him!” she called. “Look upon Alpha Merrin, the undefeated son of Wolves-Heaven! No alpha has ever defeated him. Just last night, he crushed the Cave-Ocean pack with a single command!” The crowd roared. Pride thundered through the courtyard. Helena’s eyes gleamed, until they landed on Violet. Her smile vanished. Her gaze turned cold, disgust curling like smoke. “And this?” she asked, pointing one jeweled finger. “Another slave from his victory?”

Somehow I wished that she would ever hug me like that or at least smile at me. As I turned to head back up seeing that they were caught in their own bubble, I heard her call out to me. "Aurora?" "Ma'am?" I answered. She had sternly instructed me to call her that and who was I to go against it? River asked me if she thought I was one of their employees and I just shrugged. "These are Leo's cousins, Leah and Lira." She said, smiling in my direction for the first time. "Hi..." I said with a small smile. "You're twins." I stated the obvious. They were so identical.

I don’t know why but I want to know if her wings have changed… there’s something about it that worries me. What happens when her wings disappear? Does she lose her power? Or worse?

Her phone rang again and she immediately answered when she saw the caller ID. “Are you ready?” Malcolm’s deep husky voice filtered into her ears. “Yes I am” she beamed.

Me shifting on the field was unexpected, it was almost like a sneeze; it just happened. I don’t even know if I would be able to do that again, but I am not going to lie, I‘m happy that I was able to shift for the first time in my life, even if I still don’t know how to get back in touch with my wolf. “What are you doing here?” I ask her as I fold my arms on my chest. Lila’s POV Hazel instantly knelt to the ground and bowed her head low in respect to the guardian. The rest of us did the same. The guardian, Aura, scanned us with her beautiful blue eyes with an expression unreadable, yet filled with serenity. We want to put up a fashion show and we need new unusual foreign designs.” Could she just stop with the madam thing, Chava had cringed one of her fists already; she didn’t like to be addressed with ‘ma’. Luanda? That was an African country and the caller didn’t sound like a regular client. The girl shook her head slowly telling me that I had made a big decision. I just sparingly smiled at her as I wandered my eyes around her bruised face down to her big stomach. "Azaia," Bjorn said in a flattering tone and then let go of Safey's hair. It was only then that I was able to observe her closely. Her eye bags are black, sign that she has not slept properly recently. Her body has also dropped a lot since the last time I saw her.
