Hello, everyone! This is XSkylar19. It has been a very interesting ride for me while writing Bane of the Dragons because (fun fact) this was my very first dragon genre. I know some of you probably disliked how everything turned out or how fastpaced everything happened but know that this was intentional as I couldn't drag the story on. Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre.

"Earn it, dragon. Blood starts. Shatter Omega first." His laugh ground stones dark, scarred jaw angling claim-kiss—lips demanding velvet, tongue invasion tasting copper-salt sweat. I yielded fraction fire-match, athletic frame arching his lean, hands fisting gi blood-stiff. "Defiance suits," he growled, throat-pull, teeth grazing pulse claim-bite shallow. Obsidian flared volcanic as mahogany thighs parted instinctively, hakama hiking invitation.

He turned back to look at Ver Nooy and saw Hélarion still chopping at the mountain trolls, leaving wide circles of dead around him. The smell was getting worse and a dark cloud of smoke began to fill the sky. A strange wind picked up and a mysterious awful cry came from behind his position. Termâs turned, and there it was. He could not believe his eyes. The sculptures, carvings, and paintings were not enough to prepare him for his first glimpse of a real dragon. It stretched across the sky in a zigzag pattern breathing fire and smoke as it closed in on Ver Nooy. The mighty soldier could think of nothing to do except turn and yell, “Dragon!”

He was the deepest thinker of all, so it is natural that he never misses a point. “You are right, Dad C. The first type of dragons who produce their own power are known as ‘Imperial Dragons’. They mostly use their spirit animal’s energy which is the hardest to harness,” I answered patiently but was interrupted by Dad Valen. “Xador ?! Is he one of them ?” he asked.

“I see you know your dragons.” “Yes, my lady...” Seb mumbled, “I love to read about magical creatures.” “Are these all the dragons in your world?” Johan looked at the sky where several more dragons of different kinds and sizes were flying and gliding. “Of course not,” the white dragon answered, “these are just some of the important ones.” They watched as Damien lifted Dragon up. He was in his dragon form and stretched his wings, flapping it to raise himself into the air. “It’s his first flight,” Lady Lucille told the three young mages. “Now the eldest in their clan will name him...”

I hear dragon wings and feel the dragons land, forming a circle around us as we all continue to hum our encouragement for the first true generation of dragons since the humans nearly killed all of the original elementals. The earth dragons come first, followed closely by the fire dragons, with the water and air dragons fighting their way out eventually too. Last is the golden egg. It begins rocking violently as the others begin screeching for food. The elementals begin dropping pieces of fresh meat into their mouths as Cal and I watch our golden egg carefully. Finally, the egg breaks and she tumbles out of her confinement, stretching her wings and looking up at me. I lean down, pressing my n

I'm about to walk to where I see my roommates sitting, but Ember waves at me, she's sitting alone. I walked up to her. “Hey” I greet but she only gives me her creepy smile. “How was your first day?” She asked, sipping on a juice box which I found odd for a dragon. “It was alright” I shrugged and began to dive into my food. “Why do people avoid you?” I asked, stating the obvious, I closed my eyes as I cautioned myself about being nosy. “My father is the dragon King, I'm his first child” she smiled again but I still stared at her confused.

She was touching Megan’s face and then hugging her again as they both cried. “What happens now?” Rylee asked. “We’ve completed the bond and it’s been accepted.” “And something else,” Elder Michael said with a smile. “What?” Lucas asked impatiently. “Megan has a dragon,” I said and Rylee gasped as Lucas turned towards me. “A dragon? That’s never happened before,” he said. “Quite right Sire Lucas, Kaida is the first of her kind that we know of, she’s a strong dragoness, graceful and beautiful,” Elder Cliff said.

She keeps roaring everytime Erwin is in pain. The Harlow family only had one dragon, Frenya, but that dragon had been their tool of war since centuries ago. However, the dragon lived a long life, and as old as it was, her body was very large. Everyone believed that dragons were only a myth creature until they saw Frenya. In fact, Frenya was the first and only dragon that everyone had witnessed exist. Who knows where the Harlow family found the dragon and how they subdued it. It's still a mystery, even to the Harlow family themselves. The historical records of how the Harlows bonded with Frenya have been erased.
