"You suggested drinking," he grumbles as I climb off his body. We're both still fully dressed and stinking of alcohol. "You should have said no," I say and he rolls his eyes but I can see him smiling a little. I follow him to the kitchen where he gets me a glass of water and headache pills.

I continued angrily. He just watched me. His eyes sucking into mine deeply. “You know what, it doesn’t matter now! I just want you to know that you have been very shitty and it was so disappointing to experience you act that way. I fantasized about meeting you because I thought you were some kind of angel but I guess I was wrong!” I said out of breath. “Now, can I please have my book?” There was a moment of silence and I thought he was not going to say a word. I thought that he would just continue looking at me with those eyes that made the room feel a lot smaller.

But what is even more fascinating with us most readers is the way we would hate the lead guy for being toxic and shitty, yet we would deliberately fall for someone who is more naturally toxic and shittier, hence, being what makes him the bad guy. But I have discovered something from a passage I read online, I cannot remember when or where it was, but it stated the reason why readers often fall for the bad guys. It is easier to fall for someone who is imperfect and sees you for who you are. Someone who would not sugarcoat things and would not have a reason to lie.
