I sent emails, organizing the first few steps, until someone tapped on my shoulder, and I whirled. Paige stood there with a huge bag and a grin. “You got it?” I asked, my imagination springing back to life. We’d passed a little jeweler a few blocks back. We could get wedding bands. “It was a perfect fit.” Her smile stretched even wider. “With all my muscles, I’m even a size bigger than I was before my kidnapping.” I laughed and slung an arm around her waist. “At this rate, you’re going to be buffer than me.”

He smiled. The older lady chuckled, “I will get that ready for you.” I guess Mr. Adolphus had ordered for us. “So, do you mind if I get to know your friends?” He asked Lucas. He shrugged, “only if they want to.” “Let us start with you, young lady, Paige?” He pointed to her. Paige giggled, “Yes, Paige.” She started playing with her hair. “I don't think there is much for me to say. I am just good friends with your son; I'm a witch, and we started this trip hoping to visit a lot of major cities.”

“Kamila Dickson.” I replied. “I'd love to know what you know about Paige, Kam.” “Paige is innocent. She was bestie to my girlfriend. Well, Ria is out of town now and I haven't been able to reach her. She rarely talked about her, but… She is an introvert. She kind of likes to keep to herself most of the time. She plays the guitar so perfectly well yet refused to join our band because she would rather not be known too much”

Oh, Goddess. “Are you… are you saying that you are your own stalker?” Paige looked up at me annoyed. “Jason Baxter, this is hard enough on me as it is. Can you please just sit there and listen. I promise I will let you ask as many questions as you want when I am done, but I am running out of courage, so if you do not let me finish this story, I may never do so.” I kind-of like sassy Paige. She is way sexier when she is sassy than when she is feeling guilty about stupid teenage crap.

With the beast's life force extinguished, Paige released a breath of relief. "Honey, what’s the rank of this phantom-beast?" asked Paige, watching as Akasuki, the kunoichi who tended to carry herself in a relaxed and unresponsive manner, gruesomely plucked out the creature's eyeballs. Such a scene, as usual, caused Alice, the girl who held an affinity for celestial magic, to puke nearby.

Beckett couldn't help but grin at that. He was sure that if Paige wasn't there, Jeru would have gone home by now because he couldn't stand the reporters' pestering. In contrast to his facade, he hated crowds, same as Beckett. “Anyway, her name’s Paige. Paige Dimagiba, Trace’s younger sister,” Beckett said to Vivianne, who was still staring at Paige now. Vivianne's lips pursed. So that's why the girl's face seemed somewhat familiar to her. She was one of the names on Alfred's list when he became interested in Foedus. Nonetheless, no one could touch Paige because they would be up against the whole Foedus.

However, Serene almost jumped out of her seat. "Paige!" She yelled and glared. "Ha, it seems it happened" Paige said and laughed happily. Serene really wanted to beat up her best friend but she could not. She realized that she had fallen into the hands of Paige and paige had used her expression to attack her. She pouted and was very unhappy.

Today was the day I turned eighteen and everybody was busy planning my dinner party this evening so no one noticed my absence. We sneaked back into my room and quickly changed our clothes before anyone saw us. "I'm never helping you sneak out again!" Paige declared and shot me an annoyed look while trying to tie her hair in a bun. It was how maids were to dress their hair. Paige was an omega. She lost her parents in a rogue attack when she was eight and was brought into the castle where she served as my companion. It was only two years ago that my father made her my personal maid as well.

"So, you can be here, but I can't?" Alex looked panicked. "Paige, it's not what you think. Please listen to me—" Paige glanced at Alex and cut him off. "Shut up!" She then sat down and addressed Juniper, "Ms. Pearl." Juniper glanced between Alex and Paige. "Who are you?"

Is he trying to freak her out even more? Paige doesn’t speak for a moment and I know she is trying to make sense of his words. I pinch the bridge of my nose, waiting for all hell to break loose. “What the hell are you talking about? You cannot claim me like I’m some property. I barely even know you, and if you are suggesting that I’d be in a relationship with both of you, then you can forget it. I don’t want either of you. You are not even human, for God’s sake. You are monsters, some kind of freak abominations, and I want no part of whatever it is you have going on here,” she shouts.
