He put his hand on the small of my back leading me through the thick grove, suddenly he stopped walking, I looked up at him and he motions me to look at something; I turned my head to look at the way he’s motioned me to look at. “Wow!!!” Was the only word came out of my mouth, It was so gorgeous. The beach was so beautiful, The sea’s shoreline was lighted neon blue in the most magical manner the light was emitting from water, it was glowing beautifully. Every time a wave hits the shore it’s glowing brighter than before. The gentle surges of water lapping up against the shoreline were glowing with radiance dotted with bright specks of light, much like the stars that were just starting to ligh

I feel when I have it with me, I have her with me. As I crouch to grab some lavender, I look out at the ocean through the window. The lighthouse is still resolute and continues to be a beacon for sailors. The ones that are alive, that is. I can see dark clouds brewing into a storm on the horizon. The ocean is so pretty. Lana’s POV We’d expected the Old Beacon of Lyr to be a ruin, a memory of light; we did not expect the hush that felt like waiting for a tide long past. The Beacon stood on a jut of rock that sliced into the sea, its base worn and hollowed by storms, its top a skeleton of stone. The path down was treacherous — wet steps glazed with algae, ropes that swayed with wind and tide. “This is where the keepers vanished,” Bastion said quietly. “And where echoes of the manipulator’s work may be rooted.”

The storm continued raging. Lightning split the sky. Thunder shook the island. Yet somehow— that tiny light never wavered. Never disappeared. It simply kept coming. Lily pressed against the window. Trying to see better. Trying to understand. Then another flash of lightning illuminated the ocean. And this time— she saw a figure. A person. Holding the light. Walking across the black beach. The same way the mysterious figure had stood on the boat. Motionless. Patient. Watching. Then darkness returned.

I felt something unravelling has finally been solved and confirmed. I grabbed my phone and looked through the dictionary as I searched for the word beacon and it said a few things which included lighthouse.

“Then, by all means, Laura, do tell.” He leans back against the stone wall but keeps my hand trapped in his. “Do you know what’s the purpose of a lighthouse?” I ask, staring into his eyes. Paul nods. “It’s emitting a light beacon to guide ships through the dark or during stormy weather. This way, the crew can get to the safety of the shore without getting lost or shipwrecked.” “Indeed,” I say, peering at the waves. “But what if the ship is too far away to see the light? What then? Does it sink into the depths of the sea? Or will the crew save the day by sheer luck?”

Wasn’t it the reason I was here in the very first place? I went back upstairs to change the candle, but before I lit the new one, the wind entered the small crack of the ceiling and the light went out. I sighed and fished out my lighter from my pocket and lit the new candle. Dim light filled the whole room again as I placed it above the bedside table.

I could not help but feel amazed and in love with the place of Basco, Batanes. I turned my gaze to the Tayid lighthouse located on the far hills from where I am standing. It is painted white with red lines on the very top. It is too tall and I bet the entire scenic view would be visible from its balcony. I looked at the blue sea in front of me. I felt like the waves are swaying me, making me feel comfortable and relaxed like this place is a true home that I finally found.
