my eyes widen JESSES POV I walk towards my office my secretary rushes to me " Sir there's someone waiting for you at the office". "who is it?". " I don't know, but you might be-"i open the door. I couldn't believe me, I felt my heart instantly fall out of my chest, I rub my eyes with my hands hoping i wasn't dreaming or seeing things. She wears a smile, she stands up from the chair, she walks toward me "Hi, honey".

Her usual brown eyes are a solid black. I pull myself from her vision. Her face was still vacant, but tears were now making tracks down her cheeks. Her shoulders judder as she lets out a whimper. She snaps out of the vision and just stares at me in silence. “I…” She starts but the words don’t come, yet the tears fall thick and fast. What I didn’t understand is why she was being shown a vision like that. A vision of herself and what she is going to do. “Go find Freya.”

She looks down at my hand before her eyes meet mine once again. For a second, I can’t bring myself to think I’m looking into the eyes of a monster. Her eyes sparkle, revealing the slightest hints of green amongst the hazel. Her eyes soften, before they flicker black, and her expression darkens, a small frown etching across her forehead.

“…she saw red eyes before she passed out. They’re the same eyes that I saw in my other visions.” At that moment, my body trembles as a cold chill begins to seep through my body. I cross my arms in front of my chest, trying to stave off the chill. “There were two of them. One hit her on the back, and the other with the glowing eyes was in front of her.”

Her gaze fell upon a expanse of bronzed skin. Her mind, just awakened from dreams, still lingered in a half-asleep state. She blinked her bright, grape-like black eyes, gradually realizing as she widened them.

Age may have bent her body, but definitely not her spirit. She fixed two silver orbs on me…her eyes are like liquid fire, burning with a conviction and a vibrance that I cannot name. The moment her eyes meet mine, I see tears gather in hers almost immediately. She takes one slow step after another, inching closer and closer towards me. The crowd parts for her on their own according, like the sea parting for the people to pass in the midst of it. There is absolute silence, no one daring to break it…even breaths seem to seize in that moment.

God! What the hell I am thinking! Please help me! I'm losing my mind! She is still looking at my eyes with the blush and it had a mischievous glint on it. She took a step forward and kept her one knee on the bed and leaned towards me, making me froze in shock. She slowly leaned forward eyeing me cautiously. I sat still and closed my eyes as she covered the distance. I waited for the heavenly thing to happen again. But. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Her blue eyes are wide, unblinking, and still as she stares across the grass at me. It is a look I have never seen on her before. Not in my past life, not in my memories, not in any timeline I have ever lived through. It is a look of sharp, unreadable calculation.

Her curls have fallen slightly on her face as the rest of the hair is pinned to the back making her big brown eyes pop up beautifully. But it’s not just her appearance that takes my breath away. It’s the look in her eyes, a look that promises to stay by my side and love all my beauty and ugliness. It’s a look that two people share to speak the unspoken words and right now as she walks slowly in her father’s arms, we exchange so many feelings.

For her, it was a war she hadn’t survived. Her eyes stayed on the ceiling. Not crying. Not screaming. Just staring — because there was nothing left to do. She couldn't even understand what had happened to her. She was too innocent, too young and inexperienced to all of it. Her eyes were the first thing you’d notice — or would have, once. Wide, gentle things once full of questions and quiet wonder, the kind of eyes that still believed in kindness even after life had shown otherwise. They were the color of baby blue held by the lightest shade of ocean, but now they held no warmth. Only glass. Only distance.
