But before his anger could fully surface, a low rumble interrupted the tense silence—my stomach growling audibly. I froze, feeling my cheeks heat up in embarrassment. My body was betraying me, reminding me of my vulnerability. I pressed my hand against my stomach, trying to quell the hunger that had been gnawing at me for days. I hadn’t eaten anything substantial in what felt like forever, and the emptiness inside me was starting to feel unbearable.

His grim mouth tilts up at the corners. “Hungry?” She yips. I didn’t even realize our stomach was growling, but now that I’m tuning in, I hear her belly gurgling and smell the meat in his pants. My wolf noses the bulge. He chuckles, gruff and creaky.

Well, I skipped my lunch a few hours earlier. Suddenly at the thought of food, my stomach growls again, and the feeling is so annoying and fucking persistent but I keep pushing down the discomfort because I don't want to get up from here. I force myself to believe that pretending it doesn’t exist will make the growl disappear. I want to focus on settling my thoughts first instead of the call of hunger singing inside my stomach. He asks, looking her over. “Yes. So that is why I refused my lunch. I did not think that I could handle it, even though it smelled amazing. I do not think the ham and potato hash would have stayed put in my belly.” Bella says. Thankfully the bath seemed to have calmed her stomach, but now it rumbles as if to tell them to stop talking about it. “You are clearly hungry,” Adam tells her, apparently having heard the growl.
