As they reached the clearing at the center of the forest, their breath caught in their throats. Before them stood an immense creature, its fur as dark as midnight, its eyes glowing with a malevolent light. This was the ancient beast that had been awakened—a force that had been forgotten for centuries. The ground trembled beneath their feet as the beast let out another earth-shattering roar. Amelia and Soren braced themselves, ready to confront their greatest challenge. With a nod of determination, they leaped into action, attacking the beast with all their might.

The wolf had regressed to his human form now and was now lying naked on the dirt-filled ground with the knife stuck to his head. Cole rushed to the body, wrapped his fingers around the hilt of the knife, and pulled, but it didn’t give. He heard, felt, and perceived Beowulf charging at him. All the hair on his body stood on end. He pulled the knife harder, and the effort threw him backward, making him stagger on his feet. Beowulf lunged forward, causing him to trip, and the two fell to the ground.
