Evie’s chest heaved as the energy slowly receded, leaving her shaking on her knees. Her vision cleared. The glow faded. But the damage was done. The Alpha stared at her—not with doubt this time. Not with dismissal. With something far more dangerous. Recognition. “Impossible…” one of the elders whispered. Evie’s hands trembled as she pushed herself to her feet. Every instinct screamed at her to run. But she didn’t. She stood there—unsteady, shaken—but standing. And this time… No one looked at her like she was weak. Donovan took a slow step back.

Carsen's POV After I had spoken with my alpha, I sat down thinking of what could have happened and what would cause the sudden disappearance of our people. We had already battled with the werewolf hunters for a long time, and now they are out again, so frustrated with our kind. I brought out my laptop and my historical books and started going through them to see if there was anything that was behind the disappearance or if it was just humans who kept hating our kind. I sat down there thinking for a long time and then decided to keep the books and shut down my system.

She knew I never wanted to be Alpha and was quite happy being the pack doctor, maybe she was trying to plan ahead but everything went wrong when Kiwi killed our father. It saddened me to think she had kept Kiwi a secret for so long. Not just her but father too. If mother knew she existed, did father? He had worked so hard on trying to teach me how to be an Alpha. Eva scowled defiantly at the alpha but he ignored her dirty looks. Taking the necklace off and placing it in her fathers hand, she suddenly threw up all over the floor and held her head with her hands. “Ouch! It hurts!” She screamed rocking back and forth. Although if you look into your mate's eyes while they reject you, your heart feels like it is going to burst and kill you. After finishing the second movie I thought about reading the third book. I figured this one could only get better. Perhaps they will get more right. One thing wrong with the third book is that Jacob is supposed to be alpha because he is the decedent of some past alpha. If they were like real werewolves Jacob wouldn't be able to refuse to be alpha.
