She was scared. She was starting to get ideas of what was happening in her head, but she couldn’t believe it. Wouldn’t believe it. Beta Kayden noticed her fear and his eyes softened. "Go in. He doesn't bite. Not unless he is upset," Beta Kayden said and urged her on. Cassy sucked in a sharp breath and she slowly pushed the door open.

“We'll start off with the beta first. Asher, please step on to the podium.” I felt Willow tense behind me. If I listened closely, I could hear her ragged breaths coming out in intervals. “I'm more than honoured to be in this gathering.” Asher's voice rang out to the crowd a couple of minutes later. On reflex, I scoffed and I felt Willow throw me a glare. “ And even more honored to be granted the responsibility of being the beta of this strong pack, but before I do that, I have a small announcement to make. Everyone, meet Olivia; my mate.”

And once you reach for it, you will identified as one of their leader. Every born child of Alpha's will have their own book. And this book will lead them to a quest. A quest will help them to level up. These Alpha's were created by Mother Tree, she was the most powerful of the underworlds. She can give more life to every creature in their land. Carlos let us go with a chuckle, and I wondered why he didn’t push me to my limit this time. The bastard seems to love pushing my buttons the first chance he gets. I felt my wolf stir. Something isn’t right. I couldn’t get the feeling off my head. My instincts never lie. “So, what’s he like?” Evvie asked without looking at me. We were seated on the dark, handcrafted wooden oak planted against the further end of the hallway. I whipped at her. “You mean the Alpha?” I asked back, cocking my head. She gave me a nod and I thought back to my few yet, aggressive encounters with the new Alpha.

I nod, she dials the number and hands me the phone. “Creek Run, Alpha Zachary.,” Zachary is 35, a good Alpha, but he and Mia don’t see eye to eye on anything. “Zach it’s Queen Evie,” I smile as I speak so he can hear my voice. “My Queen how can I help you?” He sound nervous.

I could practically hear the grimace coming from her seeing all the scars and wounds on my back. Eva lightly patted the last wound she attended before she slowly stood on her feet and instructed me to finish the porridge. I only nodded, watching her back retreating to the door until it disappeared. A sigh left me. I let my head lean to the wall, eyes traveling to the view outside the window. The moon shines bright as the night falls, reminding me back to the night all of this started. – “A Beta. She is a Beta.” The smile on mom’s face dropped instantly. She shook her head, disbelieving it to be the truth.

Tyler was looking his best in a blue tux, and he hurried to me and held my shoulder, whispering into my ears, “How did Jax get into this?” “Alex is taking a long trip away from Night Shade, so I thought Jax should fill in his position until he returns,” I explained and he nodded, stepping back to join the group I had summoned. “Thank you for gathering here today. I'm so glad that y'all put your trust in me as your Alpha. Now I want to put my trust in you as Beta, Delta, Gamma, and Zeta.” I announced, shifting my gaze to each of them as I mentioned their ranks.

"So... you're saying he becomes human at midnight?" Elly nodded. "The witching hour. The midnight oath, that might be why they call it that." Eva's mind was confused. But one thing was becoming clear. Joe. She suddenly jumped to her feet. Fury flashed in her eyes. "Joe," she said sharply. "It's definitely Joe doing all this. Who else could it be? I bet he left the flowers. He made the coffee. He's following me, trying to scare me!" Elly laughed. "Eva, no! Joe might be many things, but he's not the Alpha's body. I would have known by now. He's a beta. The Alpha is much more powerful, much more mystical."

“Alpha Damon, please! She’s our only child. Give us a little more time!” But Damon just smiled coldly, his eyes still locked on me. “Choose wisely.” He turned and left, his guards slamming the door behind him. I stood frozen, my mind racing. I’d just come back from school, chatting with Mom, when Alpha Damon burst through our door. I had only heard terrifying stories about him before; this was the first time I had ever been this close to him.
