Kai stepped back, breaking the spell. “We can’t let this turn into distraction.”
Ethan nodded. “Agreed.”
“But,” Kai added, eyes dark, “we also can’t pretend it’s not happening.”
Ethan’s gaze softened. “No pretending.”
