I shake my head and try not to let my voice quiver as I say "It looks really good on you, gives you a softer edge." To my surprise Cain chuckles and looks away. "Deception can be a deadly weapon in the hands of the right wielder." I nod because there's no doubt about it. With the way he looks right now and the way he speaks, it would be too easy to mistake him for a werewolf even, one of those less violent ones, who enjoy sipping tea and spending pack money, having their fill of both books and women. No one would suspect he could snap necks or break bones with his hands.

He looked at it realizing it was his. "Bazaar is a werewolf and he's the uncle of the blood-eyed werewolf, Alpha Deucalion. He had been fooling us to believe that his nephew was the cause of thousands of humans being killed for he's not strong enough to kill him on his own and so he uses us to find a weakness to kill him," I informed everyone. I felt like I needed it right now. Finally, my nerves calmed to normal. I offered him a nervous smile, and he responded with a flirty eyebrow raise. “Misunderstandings, um, Alpha, they are at the very base of all deception. No deceiver can be queen,” Elder Sybil added in a measured tone, setting her palms flat on the table. “The red wolf…” Elder Victor raised, shifting in his chair. “She is th…” Connery cut in adamantly, rising from his chair. “I am,” I stopped Connery, glaring at him. I lifted my chin a fraction, and then I swayed my gaze at Victor and corrected, “I was.”

Confusion, longing, and fear warred within him. “I want to see you,” he whispered. “But everything says otherwise. Everything points to a deception so vast I cannot comprehend it.” “The deception is right in front of you,” I said. “She is the deception. She is the creation of people who want to destroy us. They know that the strongest way to defeat us is to make us doubt each other.” The woman laughed softly. It sounded like my laugh, but it lacked warmth.

He was right there, captivating my brain and putting vile thoughts in my mind like a poisonous snake. Yet, I couldn’t help but think about how he might not be as atrocious as he pretend to be. But, looks could be deceptive and I think that I don’t want to discover about the reality that this guy seems to be hiding under his sleeves. The truth might wave its way out and reveal itself and I don’t want to fall into yet another dark hole when I just escaped one of doom. It might be sooner than I expect and I don’t want that revelation.

I could see a pair of red eyes, howling all over. I asked in fear Dekker- " What is that?" Dekker looked up and his face turned pale. He gulped as he stood frozen at his spot. He began to sweat as he clear his throat. I asked him once more-" Dekker? Will you tell me what is going on?" Dekker said in a panic voice-" W-we should leave" I asked -" Why? What do you look so pale? What is that thing?" Dekker lowered his tone and replied-" Gambler of Ghosts. The dark Prince and his men. He is a terror who feeds on the souls mercilessly."

He gestured broadly to the broken man standing in the aisle. "Ladies and gentlemen, look at this desperate, violent man," Pierce said, his voice trembling with a masterclass in deception. "He couldn't stand the truth. He killed Jane’s father to keep him quiet, and now that the dead have spoken, he wants your pity. He’s not here to save the Foundation. He’s here to finish the job."

The black smoke was starting to fade, leaving behind nothing but an empty shell that barely looked human anymore. “A shadow being,” Luciano said casually, wiping his sword on his sleeve. “They take the form of the dead and use their memories to deceive you.”

Wherever the tiny pieces landed they turned the deck to smoke as the scorched embers passed through the planks as though they were not there at all. Upon seeing the demise of their leader, the other dark-beasts scattered in terror. Beatrice’s eyes followed them and whenever her stare fell upon one of them, the bodies of these creatures would obliterate, their remains dispersed across the ship, searing wood and melting fibreglass and plastic, with small crackles and pops. Beatrice closed her eyes, and everyone below looked on with amazement as an intense, inner glow turned her exposed skin translucent, and the air around them changed with a hideous ripping sound.
