Aura’s pov The indescribable pain was cursing through my blood vessels. They said that your first shift is always hard and painful but this is way too painful then I have ever thought. The bones were arranged in a different skeleton and the skin grew furry hair on my body. When I opened my eyes, I noticed my white claws instead of hands and sharp talons instead of nails. The she-wolf, who was fighting with me earlier, shifted quickly to fight with me. I was new to this power but I knew that I could take her down. I could sense her moves and dodged them easily.

By the time I wandered downstairs, the smell of dinner was heavy in the air, and so was the sound of my parents' voices from the kitchen. “The Alpha is pushing for the eastern borders to be secured before the winter freeze,” Dad was saying, sipping from his coffee cup, “The beta families are getting restless about the hunting quotas.” “Well, he needs to finalize the alliance with the Northern pack first,” Mom replied, chopping vegetables, “If the line doesn't hold, the politics of the council won't matter anyway.” I slid onto a chair at the dining table, making a decent amount of noise, but they didn't even look my way, they just kept tossing pack politics back and forth.

The Rocky Climb looked like a formidable adversary, each craggy outcrop and sharp edge a testament to the gruelling test of strength and agility it presented. Ty’s muscles tensed as he approached the base of the climb, he flexed out his claws, extending them for grip. The first few steps were a scramble, his feet seeking purchase on the uneven ground. He leaped upwards, catching hold of a jutting out rock with one hand while his other clawed at the dirt for stability. His powerful legs pushed off, propelling him higher in a series of fluid, explosive motions.

I could only hope that the large beast wouldn't be able to move as fast as I could. I extended my claws to their full length and lurched at the beast in front of me. Eric leaped, standing on his back feet. He easily towered over me, but he also exposed himself… or so I thought. I swung my claws, aiming for his stomach, but then he landed much faster than I predicted, crushing me under the weight of his two gargantuan paws. The several cracking sounds announced the damage it had done to my ribs. Struggling to draw a breath, I stabbed his sides and then instantly freed my claws from his flesh. He howled and finally jumped back, releasing me.

Mia was afraid that Lucas would release Biggy and turn Claud into a zombie. But Claud ignored her, insistent on going head-to-head with Lucas. “Since you won’t answer me, don’t blame me for being rude!” Claud shouted coldly. He saw not a woman, but a monstrous, divine creature of raw power. I lunged—a blur of shadow and fire, my massive form closing the distance in an instant. My claws, elongated and razor-sharp, shredded through his hastily erected shields like they were made of paper, tearing them to ribbons. My jaws, now immense and powerful, wrapped around his side with a sickening crunch. He screamed, a high-pitched, desperate sound, as I dragged him to the earth, pinning him beneath me like helpless prey.

His mouth contorted to a fierce growl, canines showing and claws elongating from its paws. It was huge.
