Jack plop on my bed. "I know." I continued brushing my hair. "Where are off to?" "Isn't it obvious?" "Yeah but I'm a little worried for ya." "Why?" "You can be arrested or worst have an accident, I think is time you stop your biker games." He said. "No way in hell! That's my life! You don't know how it feels to be on a bike riding full speed! A particular one on his arm caught my attention. It was a dragon spitting fire. "If we don't leave now, his friends would join us here." The Biker dude gestured towards his bike I didn't even notice was parked by my side. "Get on." "Why would I go anywhere with you?" I folded my arm across my chest, suddenly feeling wary of him. 'Who was that gun shooter and why was he aiming at me?' I wondered, having an answer as I stared at this dude in my presence. It was probably because I was with him, he was a Biker and probably a gangster as well.

"Safe is a lie you tell yourself so you can sleep at night, Alpha. There is no safe. There is only the hunter and the hunted. And right now? I’m tired of being the fucking rabbit." I shoved his hand away and turned, my heart hammering against my ribs. I felt his gaze burning into my back—possessive, furious, and laced with a terrifying kind of grief. He wanted to keep me under glass. He wanted to preserve the "mouse" because it was easier than facing the wolf I was becoming. I stormed out of the war room and headed for the back of the sawmill, toward the old industrial gym where the loyalist bikers were blowing off steam.

“You okay?” “Motorcycle club?” I asked. He nodded. “Like Hell’s Angels?” Booker smirked. “In theory.” “Crap.” I glanced up at him. “I really should go.” “Go where, darlin’? There’s nothing around here for over a mile in any direction.” “Clarify something for me. Are you a club because you have really nice bikes and like to hang out and drink beer on occasion, or are you like outlaws or something?”

It wasn’t him , it definitely wasn’t. But that didn’t mean it wasn’t someone in his ranks that had been ordered to kill the judge. I chew my lip nervously. I could clear him , clear Joker. But what about the one known as Beast or the other Saint. Or anyone else. ANd even then what would I say I was stalking the leader of the most dangerous biker club that ran the town basically. There would be no reasonable explanation besides I was doing it for the case , but then that would be me doing something I wasn’t cleared to do.

From their public persona, you would be hard-pressed to figure out that they're into this kinda stuff. One's a biker who builds custom bikes that cost more than some people's houses, and the other's an entrepreneur, yeah, okay. Everything else is just speculation and conjecture and from what little I'd seen of them was way off the mark. I understand because that's exactly how I am.
