CHAPTER 74 CASSIAN'S POV You would think that the explosion would be enough to keep Nova down. Who am I kidding? She barely glances at me as she starts running towards the facility. Towards the same place that practically blows up in her face. Of course, she isn't normal. “Stay close!” She yells, turning around to look at me. I feel my wolf roll his eyes at the amount of energy that she has. But that doesn't stop the both of us from running right after her.

Elias offered to drive them back to the city, and soon they were heading down the winding forest road, leaving the cabin and its momentous events behind. In the backseat, Casie found herself sandwiched between her mates, their physical presence both comforting and overwhelming after the intensity of the past twenty-four hours. "You okay?" Rick asked quietly, his newly enhanced senses picking up on her tumultuous emotions. "Not really," she admitted. "Yesterday I was just Detective Blackwood with a secret. RIVER I slowly walk into the barracks where Anna is. I have no idea what I'm going to do. She was crazed. Attacked Cassidy like it was her mission. Cassidy will heal, but it was brutal. Cassidy POV I was awoken by a hose spraying wolfsbane at me from below. I cry out in pain as it tears into my skin. Some of it getting into my throat and burning me from the inside as I instinctively swallow. I hear laughter at my pain and I open my eyes for the first time in this room. I’ve been too scared; I didn’t want them to see the fear in my eyes but I couldn’t keep my eyes closed forever. I look around and notice it’s a big concrete warehouse and I was on top of some sort of raised platform made of concrete. The room was brightly lit by heaps of industrial lamps on the roof.
