I close my eyes and fall into a variation of my usual nightmare. It’s quiet, too quiet. The only sounds are the soft patters of mouse paws skirting across wooden floorboards. I’m in the old slave holding cell from my childhood but I am, as I am now, an adult. I’m in my assassin outfit. There are slaves all around me, but they are frozen in time. Their mouths are agape as if they are afraid and their eyes are empty as if they’ve lost the will to live. Their forms are distorted into odd postures, some with their legs bent over their heads or an arm bent backwards against the joint and up. They don’t have hair or distinguishable faces, and they all wear the same rags I remember from my childhoo

“Your stuff’s in the closet. Uniforms, towels, bedding. They measured you from the hospital records. Everything should fit.” I opened the closet door. Rows of black blazers, white shirts, red ties, dark trousers—all in my exact size. The emblem on every breast pocket: the shield, the bat, the single blood-drop tear. Like the school was crying for something it already killed. Fresh towels stacked on the shelf. A pair of black boots on the floor. Even socks. Black, of course. I turned back to the box on the bed, flipped the lid. Inside: a sleek black phone, the BludHeaven logo etched into the back. No brand name, no model number—just the bat and the tear. A charger. A folded note on top.

While Azrail and Lucia walked the hallway that leads to Lord Adonis chambers, Azrail began to think of what could be going on in Lord Adonis chambers. As far as Azrail was concerned, Lord Adonis was as fit as a fiddle and if he was by any chance sick which he doubted, Azrail knew Lord Adonis wouldn't resort to modern medicine because it would be useless to start with. We don't have a clue about that person, but if we correct the story in the right way, finding him is our final prize. This is the person who will return with us to our land, earn the blessing of the Evermore, and become an Immortal through a secret divine ritual only known by Brayanlynn. When we turn 20 and are sent to the reality of our books of destiny, we arrive in such reality as a shooting star that fell from the sky, but in the form of a baby.

The door unlocks and I walk inside. The glass cells line both sides of the room. The room is white, clean and sterile. These cells are strong enough to hold a dragon. So two weak humans won’t be able to break free. Each cell is enchanted with magic and the glass is unbreakable. The only way in or out is if a member of the Supernatural Council opens them. Each cell has hidden cameras. Plus the cameras in the hallway. This place has been dubbed the Eerie. Completely impregnable.

Those grey eyes have turned into molten, flaming glowing orbs. He opens his palm and glances down at the bullet he caught. Three more blasts release. One from me and the others from the Alphas. But like a blur, Jack is gone. A sudden chill rises behind me. I react quickly. The tree beside me explodes under Jack’s fist, splitting in half. I land several feet away. This bastard is stronger than I thought. “It seems I underestimated you, Alpha,” Jack straightens and glances over his shoulder, dust swirling in the air between us. “You are as they say. The unbeatable immortal Alpha.”
