"Looking stupid, Blanche." The platform shoes she wore made a sound as she walked slowly on the marbled floor, with her arms crossed, fingers painted bright red and a snake ring in the middle left finger. Her presence emanated a purple aura with sublime girly scent. Cleo kept the faucet running, she was reminded once again that it was her job to kill. She was trained to kill. She ought not to be here. It was when she was about to reach for the tissue box on the corner of the lavatory when she caught another silhouette on the bathroom mirror.

Waylon was both pissed and sympathetic. “I understand if this is too hard for you.” Patrick started. “Cut the crap. This is my life and the best way to address this situation is not by coddling my feelings. I am a big girl that has dealt with this my entire life. I do not want sympathy or for you to sugar coat things. I want you to be blunt and be honest.” Patrick cleared his throat as approval washed through me. “Okay. Moving on.” “There isn’t anything about time frame because the blood has been cleaned up and there is evidence of someone using bleach to try to destroy evidence.” Lilith continued as if she was ignoring my outburst.

He gaggled it, trying not to swallow but since he had been held down and his head kept in place, he couldn't throw it out. He ended up in a coughing git. “That was to warn you. That was water.” I dropped the can on the side and picked up the real can of bleach. “This is bleach. I'm sure you can tell.” As I opened the can, the smell filled the room and I saw the way his pupils shook when he smelt it. “Now will you tell me what I want to hear or you'd make me actually do this? I'm sure you know what this would do if I poured it down your throat. From your mouth, down your throat, to your stomach and then everywhere else.”

I start scrubbing at the carpet with ferocity. “Just like you,” he counters, and then he lets out a low, guttural groan that makes my stomach do a weird little flip despite the fact that I am currently elbow-deep in a cleaning disaster. I finished the job and stood up. I didn’t look back as I hauled the bag of trash toward the door because if I see one more inch of his bare butt, I am going to lose my mind. I’ll need a very strong bleach with a high concentration of acid to clean out the live p**n image from my head.

I said quietly, nearly silently. She looked at me with kindness in her eyes. “I know. But just take things one day at a time. And in 13 days, you'll know for certain if she's your mate or not. Maybe it's just a fluke.” After the session ended I sat down with Pat in his room. It was time to talk to him about today. “So when we got to school I... I smelled this smell. Like, it was an incredible and intoxicating smell.” I was still struggling with this, so it wasn't easy to talk about but he deserved to know what was going on. It was Pat. My future Beta.

Too clean. The scent of bleach hits me first—sharp, chemical, stinging the inside of my nose. Antiseptic lingers heavily behind it, mixing into something cold and clinical. All the blood from earlier? Gone. The mess? Gone. The chaos? Erased so thoroughly you’d think the violence was nothing more than a bad dream. Except it wasn’t. And the two bandaged women in the living room are proof.

I clench my fists, determined to prove her wrong. As she turns to leave, a wicked grin playing on her lips, she pauses and looks back at me. “One last thing, Xavie listens to me. We don’t want him to change his mind about you now, do we, Luna?” she sneers, chucking the bleach at me. My heart sinks as I realise the lid isn’t on the bleach, and it pours over me, burning my skin and ruining what’s left of my dress. I bite my trembling lower lip, vowing not to let her break me.

But the lemon smell is overpowered by the horrible scent permeating the room. “What’s that awful smell?” I say, waving my hand in front of my nose. “It sucks to have a sensitive wolf nose right about now,” Callan says. “This is bleach. It’s the only thing I could think of to get the bloodstains off the floor.” “Is Ethan okay?” I ask, sitting my backside on one of the chairs. “Other than a bad hangover, he’ll be fine by tomorrow.” Callan grabs a pink-stained towel and wipes the water and bleach from the floor.

Natalia gave him the 'go on look. "We have a room almost emptied of anything, could it have been a spell gone bad? We have half the house vacant, could it be, it was always like that? We have the master bedroom, untouched, and this room is here. This room doesn't look well used, it strikes me as barely living in. The bleach is on the top step. I'm thinking it was a trap or trick set up and gone bad. As I said, these people weren't dumb, and if it had been biological, then they knew it would be found even with bleach. I'm starting to wonder if it is bleach at all." Jimmy knew of other substances that might discolor the carpet. "Now you are thinking like a cop. I agree, this place is staged. B

I waited until the footsteps faded away and then climbed off the bed, there had to be something in this room that would get rid of this blue mark. I searched everywhere, I tried scrubbing it, I chucked the bleach I found in the bathroom on it. Then I saw it his razor blade. Breaking the end off so I could just get to the blade, I sat on the side with my back to the large mirror. If I had to cut some of my flesh off, then I would, it wouldn’t be the first time I had lost a bit of flesh.
