HIS BLIND OBSESSION
My blindness, my accident, the fifty percent that I had been carrying carefully for weeks, now public.
"I'm—" I stopped.
I did not have a word that was accurate.
"I don't know," I said.

I heard him coming and did not move away and he sat on the edge of my desk, close, and said nothing, just was there the way he was always there, present without requiring anything.
