Chapter Six: LAYING LOW “I’m sorry… there are things I’m keeping from you.” Rojean said to Lucas when they got out of the car before sighing to herself. They were now walking to Lucas’ car so they could go home although Rojean seemed a little cautious of her surroundings if the others were really gone and were other people following her? Lucas could only look at her too before thinking of a question. “Who died? Why are you involved in this? Isn’t it a bit illegal? It feels illegal to me, babe.”

Bella hurriedly went out to go get what I had ordered her to do. With my hand still forcefully clutching a lock of hair, I turned her around so that I could look at her face. VANESSA.... Livia looked terrified. “Daniel…” Daniel smiled. “Hello, little rose.” Livia took a step backward. Elena noticed. “You know him?” Livia didn't answer. “Livia?” “He raised me.” Elena stared at Daniel. “You raised my sister?” Daniel nodded. “For eighteen years.” Adrian's expression hardened. “You worked for Rafael.” Daniel laughed. “No.” “Then who?” Daniel looked at Livia. “She knows.” Everyone looked at Livia. She closed her eyes. “Daniel works for the original Black Rose.”

However, Daniel pulled the trigger at him blowing his brains off. There were screams in the room, both from Emily and the other girl on the bed as the guy fell down and his life slowly drifted away as he lay in a pool of his blood. After killing him, Daniel turned his attention back to Emily and pointed his gun at her. Tears dripped from her face as her hands shivered. She had come to believe that Daniel had a soft spot for her since, despite all the things she did to offend him, he never reacted harshly. She had become relaxed and decided that she will keep messing with him until he got tired and sent her away.

Daniel explains. Alexa laughs at what Daniel said. “You must be drunk,” Alexa said “No Alexa, it is true,” Daniel explained “No, you are tricking me. When she got one, she immediately pull Daniel beside her and put the tissue in Daniel’s wounds then she see that she has blue paint in her hands. Then she take the tissue away and saw that Daniel’s blood is blue.

He closed his eyes, feeling the sharp, unexpected pain radiating through his body. It felt like all the blood cells in his body had frozen. His breath gave off the same cold steam as when he had been in the forest back then. “Your curse is spreading faster than I thought. Drink my blood first.” Daniel took out a short sword when he forced himself to open his eyes and sliced open his palms until thick red blood oozed from the wound. He was exhausted by the time Daniel drew closer to him, forcing him to drink the blood. Daniel rubbed the top of his head while still asking him to drink the blood that tasted sweet on his tongue.

Completely different from Logan, whose brooding presence and sharp edges seemed to dominate every space he occupied. The girls around us murmured with envy, their eyes flickering between me and Daniel. I could feel their admiration, their unspoken wish to trade places. “Daniel,” I said softly, walking toward him. He smiled, his expression so genuine it made my chest ache. “For you,” he said, holding out the roses. His voice was like a balm, soothing and steady. “Thank you,” I murmured, taking the bouquet. His timing was perfect, his presence a welcome escape from everything else.

If she could just find a way out…. A loud click. She spun. The door behind her creaked open. Not the hallway door. The panel behind the bookcase. A man stepped through the narrow passageway, dark curls damp with sweat, a gun in one hand, blood on the other. His shirt clung to his sculpted torso, open down to the middle of his chest, smeared with soot. But it was his eyes, those ice-blue eyes that rooted her to the floor. Alonso.

Everything smells like rosewater and smoke. I pause beside a mirror. My reflection stares back, but there’s something off. I lean closer. The tilt of my head, the shape of my mouth, the line of my shoulders—it’s all right, and yet… wrong. Like I’ve seen this face on someone else. It’s me. Of course it’s me. But my stomach tightens. I force myself to look away. That’s when I see him. Daniel, standing at the far end of the corridor, dressed in black, shadows curled around his shoulders like a cloak. He holds a bouquet of roses—blackened, wilting, soaked in something that drips down his wrist.
