Zade helped me to the car while I clenched my teeth so hard I thought they’d crack. The warehouse reeked of blood, death, and betrayal. We had wiped out every damn wolf who turned on us. As I watched the car tear down the road, my heartbeat matched the speed on the screen. Then there was a loud bang. The driver jumped out to look. The footage shows two adults lying on the ground, and the victim's baby had been tossed a distant away. There was blood everywhere. It was so terrible that I almost couldn't watch. Charles and Freddie wiped at their eyes beside me. Then, unbelievably, Maeve said they weren't dead and backed the car up to run over them again. When the relatives saw that, they went completely berserk. "Charles! Freddie! I don't care who was driving. Kill them both!!

It was a bloodbath, bodies lying everywhere, some decapitated, or without hearts. It was the most gruesome sight I’ve ever seen, the movies don’t do justice to the horrors a person has to go through when fighting in a war.

Blood is everywhere., mine. Clara’s. enemies. allies. I can’t tell anymore and I stop trying to separate it because the battlefield doesn’t care about identity, only impact. Everything is red in my vision, not because of fear but because there is too much of it, too much movement, too much death happening too fast for the mind to categorize. This is war, not training, not preparation., not theory. Actual killing, actual dying, actual collapse of everything we thought we could control.

*****CARA'S POV**** The battlefield had become a living nightmare, a chaotic storm of blood, smoke, and death. Wolves tore through the ranks of soldiers, fangs flashing, claws raking armor and flesh alike. Moonshine struggled at the center of the carnage, surrounded by Lord Thane’s most vicious lieutenants, and my chest tightened as a wave of fear and rage collided inside me. Every scream of pain, every howl of despair, every strike of steel against steel stoked the fire in my veins.

The biggest war that would happen is closer than they ever thought. "I had a vision." Wazir said, breaking the silence. "The Blood kingdom has mobilized their army and are headed for the wasteland. They bring with them promises of blood. People would be decapitated. Death would flow like never before.
