Hyena spun, slashing low. Jack jumped back, the blade slicing the air inches from his stomach.

Sally asked, feeling the change in the air. “Only if you ask nicely,” Hunter purred, kissing Celestes fingertips as he lent his support even as he tried to lighten the atmosphere. “How much do you know about Hyenas, Sally?” Sally blinked again, “that they killed Mufasa?” Hunter snorted and even Celeste smiled. “Hyenas have matriarchs not because we are older or wiser than a patriarch. But because we are more aggressive. We fight harder and dirtier than our male counterparts. And even though we bare the young, female hyenas initiate every part of sex and relationships.” Another deeper breath, a squeeze of Hunter’s hand.

My eyes turned dark red as I searched desperately for the source. I followed the scent and it got stronger, almost suffocating me. I had to calm down or I'd wreck everything in my path and could also damage the vessel which held such alluring blood. I had never felt so thirsty after a drink, so I tried to control the amount of the scent I inhaled. A predator needed to be calm and calculative to get their prey, using tactical means that guaranteed no failures. Of course, we could also just go crazy and attack. The sounds of the colliding of flesh and sword filled the forest. Blood splattered on the ground and leaves were dipped.

Blood and water splashed. Hyena, his face covered in blood, reached for the pistol at his waist. A muddy high - heel came down hard. “Crack!” Hyena's wrist bone broke. The bone pierced his skin. “Bitch! How dare you——” Vivienne, cold - faced, pulled out a red - hot steel bar. She drove it into Hyena's shoulder blade. The bar pinned Hyena to the ground. Smoke and the smell of burning flesh filled the air. “AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!”

CHAPTER 6 — BLOOD UNDER MOONLIGHT Lyra’s POV The scream didn’t come from me. It came from the crowd. From the moment my claws tore through flesh, time fractured. Sound dulled. He blinked up through blurry eyes, wiping at his tears, and then— His heart stopped. A monstrous figure loomed above him. "Grahhhhhhhh!" The creature was unlike anything he had ever seen. Towering, grotesque. Three times the size of a normal wolf. Its eyes burned a hellish red, gleaming with an unnatural hunger. Claws, long and curved, glinted under the weak moonlight. Saliva dripped from jagged teeth as it growled, a sound so deep it rattled through Logan’s bones.
