Blood and Bones

Blood and Bones

The house didn’t feel like mine anymore once the gunfire stopped. Declan’s men moved through the estate with brisk, practiced efficiency, zip-tying the guards who were still breathing, calling for a cleanup crew, sweeping every room for anything the Ghost might have left behind. I stood in the middle of the foyer, blood — not mine — drying on my knuckles, and tried to remember how to breathe like a person who hadn’t just watched her home turned into a battlefield. “Sera.” Declan’s hand found my shoulder, gentler than it had any right to be given the last ten minutes. “You’re not hurt?”

Borrowed Blood

Borrowed Blood

During my three-year-old son's preschool physical, his blood type didn't match mine or my wife's. I had just printed the divorce papers when I suddenly heard my son's voice. [This disgusting man is so stupid. He's raised me, his own little brother, as his son for years and still has no idea!] [Lol, hurry up and get divorced. Once they divorce, I can cling openly to my real mom!] [And divorced men are unwanted anyway. From now on, every dollar he earns will be mine!] My wife was still anxiously explaining, "Honey! I really never betrayed you! Do you really want a divorce?" I looked at my son's tightly closed lips and excited eyes, then tore up the divorce papers instead. "No divorce. S

Bride of the Blood Moon

Bride of the Blood Moon

I release the death grip with an effort, flexing my fingers as if to prove I am flesh and not another ghost in this place. "Tell me what you need," I say. Her lips work silently for a moment before any sound emerges. "Nothing. It is done. We bless the dead, we wait for the bones to finish burning. The rest is gone." She reaches into her apron and produces a sprig of something green. Not a flower—nothing blooms here—but a weed, tough and grayish. She hands it to me, and I take it because to refuse would be to break her entirely. "For luck," she says. "Or memory."

FORBIDDEN BLOOM

FORBIDDEN BLOOM

“Whoever put this here is bathed in the moonveil blossom.” It was the one Eros had brought in before he was informed of… My rage cleared long enough to answer, “My brother. He was bringing it to her.” The man bent his head, sniffing the flower before shaking his head. I lost my patience there and then. “What is a moonveil blossom and what does it have to do with anything?!” Looking away from the flower, he gave me his attention. “Whatever you think is the reality, isn’t the truth. Your brother lies to you.”

Apex Bloom

Apex Bloom

"The Apex Bloom. It's a survival game for the elite. The prize is a billion pounds. But it doesn't reward beauty, Lolita. It rewards the hunger of a woman who has nothing left to lose." I looked at the card, then back up into his dark, hungry eyes. I reached out to take it. As I did, I intentionally let my fingers brush against his calloused palm. A sharp, electric shock shot through me, and I let out a soft gasp. Franco’s eyes dilated instantly. He stepped half an inch closer, his thigh brushing against mine. He knew exactly what that touch did to me. He wanted it just as much as I did. "Rule one," Franco whispered, leaning down until his lips almost brushed the shell of my ear, his breath

Twin Blossoms in Darkness

Twin Blossoms in Darkness

The elder, heart aching, still had to ask, "Are you sure this will stop them from unleashing chaos?" "It's made from the World Tree. Their connection's cut, so they can't." That was the reply. The Demons' commander scoffed and said, "You're harsh with your own wives. Almost admirable, in a demonic way." "The Twin Blossoms of Ruin deserve nothing less," Rein said. Blood tears fell from my eyes; my every memory of Rein turned to dust and echoes. However, even with their research, those two harbored doubts. So, Rein leaned in close and whispered, "This is just to buy time. I swear I'll come to the Demon World to save you."

Where Blossoms No Longer Fell

Where Blossoms No Longer Fell

I clenched my hands tighter as the pain in my palm seared. … I had no idea how long we walked for. The sun seemed to have climbed to its peak. I was finally allowed to remove the blindfold. Before me stretched a winding, narrow path that ended in a bottomless cave. Beside it stood a towering, ancient tree. Its scent of osmanthus drifted even from afar. The villagers said the tree had absorbed the essence of countless Blossom Brides. That was what made it so tall and fragrant. When we were thirty feet away from the cave, the procession abruptly stopped.

The Rise of the Frost Dragons (Blue Triangle Series #2)

The Rise of the Frost Dragons (Blue Triangle Series #2)

The Blossomland had been his go-to-cure for a bad day. The wide terrains and hills and plains filled with vibrant colors of flowers, dancing along with the strong breeze—the serene sound of petals and leaves rustling—the smell of the aromatic azalea and windrose flowers—the warm kiss of mid-morning sunlight—they all had used to help Kael calm his thoughts down. But this time was different. The worst thing he could’ve had imagined was happening now.

The Blood Orchid

The Blood Orchid

“Where is the Blood Orchid, Hailey Brookes?” “I….don’t>>>>know,” She replied with a sob. She wished then that she knew, she wished that the Blood Orchid was in her possession. She would have given it to him no matter the value or importance. “Wrong answer”. Hailey watched the long, dark claws swipe at Hailey’s throat. She watched Peggy try to wrest her hands from his grasp in order to hold back the blood gushing from her slit throat. She watched her best friend try but fail. Peggy mouthed another “Run” before falling face first on the Kitchen floor, the blood streaming out from beneath her and staining the white tiles. It seemed to Hailey like she was watching from a distance, she didn’t eve

Blood and Moon

Blood and Moon

Haimon could not attack a blood, and our unborn baby was a blood. "Don't kill us, Adam," I said as gently as I could manage. I sent all my power in that last blast, so I was weak. This was the best I could do. He sniffed the air several times and moved close to my neck, where his mark was. He took in my scent, still growling, and then he bit down on the mark. It was painful at first, but then pleasure washed through me, and I moaned. He pulled me close tightly, pulled on my blood and magic a little, and then released me. I looked at him, and his eyes were normal again. He had tasted my blood and pulled on my magic a little to quiet down his hunger. Adam had tears in his eyes.
