Blurred Vision Upon Waking Novels & Stories

No one responds. My vision is blurred, something I'd grown used to. This time it felt different. Like a mist covering my eyes but not touching my skin. I blink several times, waiting for the dizziness that usually accompanies the action. It doesn't come. I hesitate before bringing a hand up to wipe at my eyes. The movement is sluggish; and my arm stings but it doesn't feel heavy. I'd grown used to the heaviness of my own body, I realize. An ache does form, greater than I've felt in awhile. It stretches across the muscles of my arm, accompanying the sting from my healing injury. My eyes hurt as I drag a fist over the lids but my vision clears. Clearer than I've felt in who knows how long.

My vision blurred. Then everything went black.

Something inside me strained toward the answer, grasping for the missing piece of the puzzle— And just before it clicked, the vision shattered. I could feel myself being violently pulled away from the scene. The images blurred out of focus, and a blinding white light flooded my vision. As quickly and painfully as the memory had arrived, it vanished in a flash. And so did I. When my eyes finally snapped open, the ceiling above me was entirely strange. My head throbbed with a vicious ache, as if I had been struck by a rock. My sight was blurry, my mind completely disoriented, left alone in the quiet aftermath of a memory that wasn't mine.

Nothing deep or serious enough to cause any scar. I would have to give it to whoever did the work for knowing just what to do, because when I opened my eyes, I didn’t feel any head pain or even a headache. The blurry sight was as a result of keeping my eyes shut for a while. From the brightness of the weather outside, I could tell that it was already dawn, although I couldn’t tell what time it was. Right now, I didn’t feel any pain, but I just wanted to lay here and try to get rid of all my head thought about when I was passed out.

She said instead, obviously trying to change the subject. “ And?” She realised a frustrated breath.“ And it disappeared the moment I stood up. I had a piercing headache before that and then my vision went blurry.” I creased my brows, my brain analysing her explanation.“ Can you remember what happened before that?” "Yeah, I think I had a dream that felt so real. I can't really explain it, but it felt like déjà vu.” I nodded knowingly. She most likely regained a fragment of her memory that triggered her eyesight, but I'm not telling her this.“ You had a visual Remission, and in a few days, you should get your sight back.”

Red’s POV It's hard to wake up first thing in the morning... Let alone with a fuzzy head and a hangover. I rolled over and looked for my glasses, they weren't there. Grumbling, and with a very full bladder, I sat up and looked around.. Got to find them damn glasses I thought, as the world came into focus. While this wasn't the first time I'd lost my glasses, I was sure that this was the first time I had seen this room.

Just enough to make me pause mid-reach. I gripped the edge of the desk, blinking hard. Fatigue, probably. Lack of sleep catching up faster than anticipated. 'Just need more water,' I rationalized. The dizziness didn't leave. It crept in slowly, insidiously, like fog rolling through cracks I hadn't known existed. My vision blurred at the edges, sounds dulling as though someone had packed cotton in my ears. I pressed my palms flat against the desk, grounding myself. 'What the hell?'

He didn’t look convinced, but he continued with his report. After he left, I sat in the administrative chair for a long time, waiting for the slight blurring at the edges of my vision to clear. It happened for just a moment and then it was gone. I blinked several times, my heart rate picking up. That hadn’t happened before. I pressed my fingers to my temples, forcing myself to breathe steadily. The blur didn’t return. So I assumed it was eye strain from reviewing documents all morning. That evening, I attended to a minor dispute between two omega families in the housing wing. Bree leaned back against the sofa's backrest and let herself recover from the dizziness. Suddenly, Bree felt her hair stand on end. She felt the same thing earlier. Without any hesitation, Bree opened her eyes. She didn't move from leaning against the sofa. Through her blurry vision, Bree saw the silhouette of a man standing next to her. She blinked a couple of times to clear her vision! But it was still the same! Was she that drunk to hallucinate like this? Bree raised her hand and waved it in front of her. Dizzy and blurry eyes, not a good combination.

Suddenly he room started to blur. I realize that I was starting to wake up.
