Book 16 The Iliad Novels & Stories

"Someone stole my firstborn... and convinced me to spend sixteen years raising the wrong child. I have spent years bleeding for the borders of this territory, believing in the honor of our vanguard, while the truth was being chewed away by moths and traitors." He reached the central shelf and grabbed a massive, iron-bound leather ledger. The book was nearly three feet wide, its spine cracked and peeling from decades of handling. Marcus dragged it from the alcove and slammed it down onto the reading table in the center of the room. The impact sent a shockwave of dust into the air, catching the silver light of Elena's palms and twisting like ghosts in the dark.

Soft yellow light surrounded her bed when she switched on her side lamp, Elara coughed lightly as she blew on the white cloth which covered the book. Removing the cloth she stared at the black large book , her soft hazel- brown eyes widened as she stared at the title of the book, her long dark eyelashes flickered as she roamed her eyes on that book. THE LEGEND ALPHA PRINCE, that was the title of the book, she softly ran her fingers on the book and surprisingly that letters glowed by her touch as if it had recognised its owner. Taking a deep breath Elara opened the book, her hands trembling as her long wavy brown hairs flew because of strange wind, She frowned as she took in the sight of a st

“What do you think it is?” Kael answered quietly. “The kind of book kingdoms start wars over.” She carefully opened the first page. Elegant handwriting stretched across the yellowed parchment. The Book Before the War Beneath it… Another sentence. One that stole the air from every lungs in the room. Written in the reign of Queen Lysandra and King Alaric of Crimson, that those who come after us may remember the truth we fought to protect. Silence. No one moved. No one breathed. Sera blinked first.

Emma let out a defeated sigh but decided to wear it after not finding any other suitable option. As she stretched her hand back to open her zipper, it hit something firm, followed by a waft of warm breath, sensually caressing the nape of her neck. Fear rushed through her veins, rendering her body motionless. He's here! "Husband and wife don't hide from each other," he whispered, his voice growing huskier as their bodies drew dangerously close. She inhaled sharply, and an enticing blend of his luxurious cologne, laced with a subtle note of alcohol, enveloped her senses.

"Well, he needs to face them, or else if Liam tries to do anything to seduce Lily again and use her as a backup, I will cut his dick off and feed it to my tiger." "Baby girl, you don't have a tiger," Logan deadpanned, and I chuckled. "Well, I'll ask grandpa to get me one," Effie suggested. "Name him Shere Khan, like from The Jungle Book, where he eats a little boy named Liam as a tasty meal." Isn't the boy's name Mowgli? "Ro, your overreacting." Logan's voice sounded amused by his girlfriend's false declaration of buying a tiger and feeding it with Liam Bits.

Ok but really what did I do? "He's mine Ilaria. You got that?" She hissed, her face close to me. I lean back, stupidly nodding at her. What is she talking about? Who is she talking about? I watch as she leans back and gazes at the fireplace before tossing my book, the pages immediately catching fire. The book is making cracking and popping sounds.

"My prince, I am so sorry. Please excuse me. Your father, that is to say the king, ordered a rush on all things relating to the Fellstar Prophecy and because of this and well frankly the lack of seers, I have been rushing around in an attempt to have everything prepared before you got here. Which now I can see was a waste of time as I'm not even half done and you are standing right here." I laugh to myself as the young woman babbles on. "It's fine." I say. "No rush. By the looks of it, it will take me a while to read all of the ones you have here. So if you will just allow me to pick these up, is there a place I can set up to study?" "Y-y-yes" She says and points to a small nook just off the

“Does it have a title?” “No,” Luka said. “But it has a ribbon bookmark.” Selene and Theoden entered just as Luka flipped to the marked page. Darius grinned. “If it starts with fire-haired one again, I’m walking out.” Luka read aloud: “The sky will bleed red when the seal begins to strain.” Everyone went quiet. Selene moved toward him. “What did you say?” Luka repeated the line, slower this time. Cassiel stepped into the room just as Luka finished. He stilled when he saw the book in Luka’s hands.

she said, her voice low and mysterious. Kael and Lila stood frozen beside me, their eyes fixed on the book. "What is that?" Kael whispered. Elara's smile grew wider. "This, my friends, is the Book of the Ancients," she said. "A book of great power and knowledge, one that holds the secrets of our pack's past." Lila's eyes widened in awe. "How did you get this?" she asked. Elara's eyes glinted with a knowing light. "Let's just say that I've been keeping secrets of my own," she said.

Instinctively, my hand rested on the hilt of my sword as I stepped beside him. He picked up the first book on the stack: The Compendium of the First Blood. It was a book so old its pages were made of cured vellum that should have lasted ten thousand years. I watched as he opened it and gasped. Cold rushed through my veins—the book was mutilated. "This is the chapter about the ancient evils," Orion commented as he flipped the pages. It seemed like something, or someone, had reached into the book and torn off the pages with claws. I suppressed the anger bubbling to the surface at such damage done to something so historical.
