A warm smile. Summit Angel Warm. The rider smiled. Slowly. Dangerously. “So you’ve finally awakened.” The parchment disappeared into his cloak. His horse continued forward. Toward White Fang Territory. Toward the girl carrying the Mark of the Moon. Toward destiny itself. Back inside the palace— The library had become quiet. The sun had long disappeared. Only candlelight remained. Soft golden light illuminated the enormous archive. Most servants had left. Even Metro was gone. Only Sam and Froz remained.

No family to let me down, or expectations I’d never asked for—just stories. And for a little while, stories were enough. The fireplace popped quietly in the corner, flames flickering over the floor-to-ceiling shelves and dusty scrolls. Ember Hills library was older than history itself, shelves brimming with tomes that murmured with magic even without being read. I sat curled in the overstuffed leather reading chair beneath one of the arched windows, the letter still pressed deep in the pocket of my coat, even though I’d read it so many times the edges were frayed.

She says. "So, definitely not safe." I say. So she headed back upstairs and I went to the back row and I started looking through all the books that she pointed me too and there were several different books that I knew I needed to get into. I started looking through the books and the faerie's and there were some really disturbing drawings in there of faerie's and creatures from centuries ago. Apparently, they are all in the Morda realm now. I wouldn't be able to get through all of these books in the library so I grabbed everything that they had and I left the library and took them back to the packhouse. I took them straight to my office and I mind linked Wyatt to meet me in there.

I would slip inside, hide in one of the far aisles, and cry until I had no tears left. I smiled faintly at the memory as I greeted the librarian, who recognized me immediately and gave me a warm nod. The section on Moonwhisperers wasn’t hard to find; it occupied an entire wall of carefully preserved volumes with a small sign at the top of the shelf that read “Fragile.” I selected several books that looked promising and settled into one of the oversized leather armchairs tucked into a quiet corner near the back.

she begged and pinched her brows, making a look of helplessness. "Every written word is important, Lorraine. It's rather better to ask for a summary of the book than say 'only the important part of the book', okay?" Herla corrected her. Lorraine remembered her school librarian. This would have been the exact same response they would give to anyone who insinuated there's a part of a book that was less important than another. "Are you a librarian?" Lorraine's eyes followed Herla as she flapped her wings. "Yes. I used to be a librarian."

It was supposed to be used only in the day time by special students who couldn’t use the public library for a valid reason. When Anthony started visiting the mini library at night, he used to tip the librarian. But very soon, there was no need to do so because, they were the same. Anthony usually went to the mini library to read supernatural books–especially, books about werewolves. He held his textbook closely so that whenever anyone came close, he would quickly replace it. Not like anyone would suspect him to be a werewolf just because he was reading such books but, he was scared. The day the librarian caught him, he began to stammer.

I looked around for the librarian but noticed that Lucian and Cassius weren't here anymore. “Pack duties.” Darius said. Like I asked. I ignored him, got up and went to find the librarian. “What does it say?” I asked pointing to a page. I didn't know why but something on that page called out to me. The librarian looked at the page. Then at me. For a second, he didn’t speak. “Moon-marked wolf.” My fingers tightened around the book. “what?” “It’s a type of wolf,” he continued calmly. “the rare and powerful kind.”

His leg brushed mine the entire time. I picked mine and Lycer's first stop as one I knew he would like. The pack library. It was more than twice the size of the one in the pack house. I didn't often spend time here but I occasionally had to pick up a book for my lessons. Right now, my goal is to read through all the books in the pack house and then move on to tackling the library. Though, some of the academic books confuse me. . . I'll save those for last.

I say closing books and putting them on a rack for the librarians to put back on the shelf. Legolas is not far behind me as we sneak around the human library trying to stay out of the runt’s site. What could she possibly be doing here anyways? First Legolas had the close call in the restricted section at her pack’s library, and now this? Is she researching the same creatures as us? “You know we could always go ask her. Maybe she’s got more information than you or Skeeter over there.” Maddox nodding his head towards Legolas .

She carried several leather-bound books, her arms wrapped around them protectively as she approached my desk. "Little luna," I greeted her, rising to take the books from her. Their weight surprised me—she must have been carrying them for some distance. "Did you enjoy the library?" "It was incredible," she replied, her eyes brightening. "I've never seen so many books in one place. The royal librarian was extremely helpful once she got over her shock that the new Queen wanted access to legal texts instead of romances." I set the books on my desk, noting the ancient spines with titles referencing pack law and royal decrees. "You found what you were looking for, I see."
