Amelia blushed. “We should put these back in,” she said. “Why?” I asked. The postcards were certainly more interesting than numbers. “What are you girls up to?” came a voice. Mother had entered the room, and was walking towards us. Amelia’s blush disappeared instantly. She scrambled to put the postcards back into the book, but before she could get them all, Mother saw them and screamed.

They had no idea I understood every single word they were saying. "Smell?" I thought. What smell? No one had ever mentioned anything about me having a unique scent before. Not my mom. Not Cynthia. Not anyone. So why were these creatures acting like I carried some kind of special aroma? The more I listened, the more unsettled I became. Was this why Bright and the others were laughing?

If not for his epic moments day by day, Fruto will have gotten carried away and be scared. “Well, that is very vague.” Fruto commented. Ponjie agreed.
