Book That Read To Me Novels & Stories

Edna muttered, and I came to a halt, turning to face her. "I've tried numerous times to open the next page, but my hands keep shivering," I explained. "If you let me, I'll help you read the book, Alpha Andrew."

"That the people who stay are the ones who were supposed to." He looked at the book. "Not the ones who were convenient. Not the ones who were merely suitable." He looked back at her. "The ones who were supposed to." She sat with that for a long moment. Then: "Read it to me." He looked at her. "It's a children's book." "I know," she said. "Read it to me." Something moved in his expression. "All right," he said. He opened the book. He read it in twenty minutes—the whole of it, slowly, in the kitchen with the September evening at the windows and the south garden doing its seasonal work and the house quiet around them in the way it was quiet on Friday evenings when it was simply being held by th

“I asked why you would read these kind of books for Amelia” I looked at the book in his hand, a book of myths and legends. I sighed what else could go wrong. “I shouldn't read that” “Why don't you read real books…” “She's a child” “Does that matter?” “We've been arguing a little too much lately” “Read her something better” “Dare me” Dare me??

I rested my head on the couch and opened the book. "Antoni and Cleopatra" By-W. Shakespeare. "Hey this is the same book I took from Randhir's library.Ohh God I didn't return it to him."I whispered in irritation. I flipped over few pages but my Heart was getting restless.Reason, yet unknown to me.I glanced at the watch it was only 9:40 pm. He nodded his little head in response as he immediately did what I said. After making sure he won't be found, I went ahead to look around the shelves, picking up the books and glancing through the pages, the smell of books was just calming. I got teary all of a sudden, tears threatened to fall and I blinked rapidly, trying to push it back. I picked a book by Ben Okri, I wasn't sure I read it cause the title sounded strange. "The famished road," I read out loud A soft continuous knock on the door caught my attention, I raised my head up, looking away from the book to the door. I opened it to find my other two nephews.

I went to the front page and read the title. "The Maiden's Teapot." What a crazy title, but this will do. I smiled before turning the pages again until I reached the first paragraph of the story. I started reading it out loud for her to hear. She's like my daughter that I am reading to sleep. I bit my lips before continuing to the second page, I was looking at her face every time I paused, smiling like this is something real. And I want her to wake up and hear this for real. I was in the middle of the book when I heard something outside. I think there is a person who is standing in front of the room. My peaceful and drowned mind and heart in the book started to pump hard as I got nervous. Wh

I just thought in my mind that if I am really with her how much happy she could be because if sitting with her makes her that happy. She then told me that she really really missed me, and I told her "I am right here in front of you, why are you missing me?", and she told me "Yaar, I am stilling missing you, this is very awkward", and I told her that "Don't worry I am here with you always!", we just sat there and talked all the time. I told her that I used to write notes about how I felt each day and she asked me if she could read them, and I made her read one of the note that I wrote on the day of the COA exam, and she was really overwhelmed after reading that, she even said "I love you" and

The old woman cooed and patted the bench beside her. "Afternoon Lillian. Sorry if I interrupted anything." I apologized and scampered over to her. "Not at all my dear. I was just busy with some light reading." She explained and lifted the book so I could see the title. "The Bold and the Beautiful." I read out loud with a sigh.

Now your turn”. “I do not know how to call, or the names of the books I want to read”, I heard my voice, barely a whisper. He chuckled again, whilst my cheeks burned red. “You do not need to know any such detail. Simply think of what you wish to learn and what you need – the books will present themselves to you” he instructed. “You speak of them with care. As if they are .. alive????”, I looked at him puzzled. “They are. They magic within them maybe ancient, but it is alive” he said looking at the book, caressing its covers gently as if it was a child.
